Hi all,

I just put together a test cider which I will be dry hopping after active fermentation. I added pectic enzyme about 2 hours ago per package instructions and the general consensus that it is best added 24 hours before pitching.

Now two hours later there is significant sediment build up on the bottom (2+ inches in a one gallon jug). Should I decant the cider off of this sediment before pitching? It is far more than I expected after even 24 hours and it's been only 2.

1 gallon unfiltered pasteurized cider
(Free of preservatives or any additives)
1/2 teaspoon pectic enzyme
1 teaspoon yeast nutrient (boiled in water to sanitize)

Attached is a picture. Also if I'm letting the enzyme work for 24 hours, should I refrigerate?
