I'm not following.

If I've got DME that will contribute 44 PPG, are you suggesting that I can take that and multiply it by 0.11982643/8.3454045 to get a metric contribution?

That would give me 0.631768409 points (1.0006) wort if I use a kilogram of the DME in a liter of water?
 
points/pound/gal = points/(kg*2.2)/(liters/3.78)

Thus points/kg/l = 3.78*2.2 points/pound/gal.

Thus 44 ppppg = 365.9 ppkgpL and 1 kg of this DME in 1L would give 365.9 points or SG 1.3659 (except that at this strength the deviation from linearity would probably be noticeable. OTOH if you put .454 kg in 3.78L you would have 365.9*.454/3.78 = 44 points.
 
Here is why I was wanting to know.

I've read some pages of people making slants/plates by simply measuring out the DME & Agar dry into each slant/plate, then adding hot water with a dosing syringe.

This seems less wasteful than my current method of making up 100ml of wort/agar, pouring too many plates, and then having them dry up before I can use them.

I wanted the conversion so I could make this spreadsheet. I can enter the numbers in column B, it will tell me what I need in column F.
 
I use this a bit (living in metric land).

I find it easier converting it to points per 100g per litre which is 1ppg = .8316 p/100g/L.

I like to work out my effeciency this way as the recipes I use are metric.
