Pretty hard to tell from the photo.
Can you take a closer photo maybe?

One way I can tell if it's an infection is if it gets larger. By that I mean. Is it spreading?

If it doesn't spread then it's not infected.

If it spreads across the entire surface. Then it might be infected.

So with all of that said. What is it doing?

About the only way to get a better pic is to take the lid off and I'm hesitant to do that due to introducing oxygen also thanks for the reply

I slightly cracked the lid and took a whiff it smells like sweet beer maybe with a hint of like cider or something like fermenting wine

It is honestly very unlikely it is infected unless you spit and pooped into it and even still it likely is not infected. I started with Cooper kits about 6 years ago and now enjoy brewing all grain and I can say to this day I've done so many questionable things and especially at the beginning worried non stop about infections but never have had an infection. In reality you will learn beer is very robust and near impossible to ruin at least from an infection. Cooper kits always have an apple cider smell and flavor due to the use of sugar to bring up the Alcohol percentage. You can age is longer to subside that cider flavor slightly but the only way to completly rid your beer of that flavor is to go completly all malt or go all grain.

There are no known pathogens that can survive in beer. If you are still dubious when you come to rack or bottle, just make sure you rack from under it and leave it in the fermenter.
