somehow it switched to celcius. the only info i can find online says to continue holding set button til it flashes CF but that is not working. it never says cf no matter how long i hold it down.

anyone know how to change it back

What model? They make a crapton of different ones.

On the chance it's an ITC-1000, you enter the Settings mode by holding the S button down, once Settings appear you walk the parameters list up/down with the arrow keys. When you find a Setting you want to change, hold the S button down until the parameter value flashes, then change the parameter with the arrow keys. Once you've set the parameter, press the S button again to get back to the parameters list. To save the set value and exit the Settings context, press the power button once.

Cheers!

for the ITC-308, you hold SET to enter the settings menu (once in the menu, it will display the first setting 'TS'), then release and tap SET to cycle through the different settings. When it displays CF, then use the up/down arrows to cycle between the C and F setting.

Alternatively, if you have a wifi enabled one, connect it to the inkbird app on your phone and then you can adjust all the settings on there, including the temperature unit.
