Flying in Weds and have a few people hosting me but also looking for any events, shares, recommendations etc..... If Delta gets me in on time, Ill be at the tail end of the Pliny event at Bellmont Weds night and will be at de garde when they open @ 3pm Thurs 3/5..... Any musts or special goings on Friday, Saturday or Sunday ??? Sent a ton a great bottles and down to share, although I know I have plethora of great stuff to try out there too. Cheers.

Hopefully traveling to PDX come June. Annual conference I usually attend is being held at the Portland Hilton this year. So pumped! Looks like I'll have some good options within walking distance too!

Being 6 blocks from Bailey's certainly isn't a bad thing! Easy walk to HotD too.

Fifteen minute walk to Fat Head's also!

Hey, flying in Thursday night and on Friday the wife and I have sort of a free day while friends are at work. We plan to take the light rail in from Beaverton and hit downtown. Looking for suggestions of downtown places to hit and we'll be on foot.

Later in the day we will grab a cab and head over to HotD/Cascade.

People always mention Cascade and HotD since they're pretty close, but what do you locals think of Green Dragon (right across the street from Cascade)? I've been there once or twice and it's been fine, but I've heard they have some good events, plus the "secret" tap is a cool idea.

Do the still do the secret tap at Green Dragon? TBH, I feel like all their taps are secret, because they don't post their tap list online and they don't do social media.

Personally, years ago I was a regular at the Green Dragon and had a great rapport with most of the staff. Post-buyout there was a lot of turnover and I felt like the quality of the service went way down. Also, every menu re-do has gotten worse. Also, they manage to have 50 taps that usually don't excite me. So, I don't go in very often any more (usually only if a friend suggests meeting there).

No love for the Buckman Botanical Brewery? While there stuff is REALLY hit or miss, I enjoy the unique offerings they have.

Hey guys, I'm flying in Wednesday night to spend the weekend in your great city! From this thread and elsewhere, I've got a pretty good list of places I need to hit, but are there any special events going on this week/weekend?

One of the main reasons for coming was to hit De Garde...I had planned to rent a car and hit degardebrewing on Friday or Saturday, but they just crushed my hopes and dreams by announcing they're closed for renovations this weekend...sad feels

Sorry man. Sincerely. We're at the mercy of contractors.

And only available on Sunday.

Oh well, I'll still have a blast at the festival on Saturday.

Try the Saison's we're bringing.
You win.

Edit: Deux tastes like funky OJ, Trois tastes like funky mango juice. Both with some barrel notes. Both beers I'm stupid proud of. In case that wasn't obvious.

Premiere was SO awesome. Definitely one of my new de Garde favorites. Are there still bottles? What's different/similar about the creation of these beers?

So, I am doing a Portland/Bend trip this upcoming weekend. Staying the night in Bend Saturday, and then driving to Portland from there to stay Sunday - Tuesday.

Any must stops and or special releases in either city these days? Hoping to stop by Logsden if they are open on Sunday, is that an option this time of year?

Any DeGarde avaialbe in either city also?

Any tips and suggestions will be much appreciated. Working on the itinerary with the GF later tonight, thanks!!!

Logsdon closed down the farmhouse to the public last year. They've got a new space in Hood River, but apparently that won't be open until May.

Well, that scratches on brewery off the list. Any cool places in good River? Wanna do lunch there Sunday after I leave Bend.
