Cascade is definitely a solid stop, even if for just a few tasters. I've wound up in PDX a few times on Mondays and I usually wind up spending a good part of the day hanging out at Belmont Station and grabbing a few bottles to bring home with me

Was gonna follow up with:

1. Cascade for honey ginger lime aka American lambic SeaWatchman

and

2. Casa ******* Diablo. Weekdays are probably meh, but Friday and Saturday nights this place is not to be missed. Be warned, they take $2 bills for the dancers but the show is worth the extra price. Dropped $800 there myself during my best friend's bachelor party and don't regret a cent.

If you haven't already set up a visit to Ale Apothecary, you'll be out of luck. I get the impression that the brewery will be totally off limits once the location near Good Life is ready to go.

I'll be in town next week (M-Th). Need to tick PDX TBers. Also willing to mule crappy east coast beer as I'll be bringing a 12 bottle shipper.

Planning to trek to degardebrewing on Thursday otherwise no structured schedule.

Planning on being in PDX in early August. Any place I can grab 12 bottle shippers while I'm there? Or should I just order some from uhaul and have them shipped to where I'm staying?

Would like to meet up for beers with TB folk if possible.

Portland wine storage behind HOTD usually has shippers, but I'd call ahead to confirm

Rose City Wine Storage is behind HOTD. Portland Wine Storage is a few blocks away. Rose City has reasonably useful hours and will sell you over-priced brand new shippers. Portland has inconvenient hours and will sell you used shippers for cheap.

Wow. That's an interesting decision.

Are they going to be in that same location as Good Life, or just in the vicinity?

Well, the brewery is actually a glorified shed that is part of their house separated by a thick (fire?) wall. So visiting the brewery is actually visiting his home. I hadn't heard visits were going to be stopped once the tasting room opens. But I suspect if you're just looking to taste some of his beers and say 'hi', you'll be directed to the new tasting room.

I totally misread that. I thought that they were opening a production only facility and that you wouldn't be able to drink anywhere.

That makes total sense.

There was an article a while back with Paul talking about the location in town (same complex as Good Life, and actually was Crux's old storage space) being the new spot for people to pick up bottles and randomly open for tastings. That sure sounds to me like they'd no longer have events up at their house/brewery. I was lucky enough to visit in April, but I can see them wanting something in Bend proper.

I have family going out to happy valley next week for a wedding. Any good bottle shops they might be able to find some standard De Garde, Commons, or anything else that's worth picking up?

Thanks for any replys

There's a new seasons grocery store in happy valley that will probably have commons and some other seasonal local beers, and right next to that is valley growlers if you're okay with a growler of something..

Well headed to Portland for drinks and food and drinks drinks drinks. Trying to hit up Commons, Cascade and other places. What's the good word on a Wednesday?

Gonna be in downtown Portland this Friday night, for the de Garde party on Sat.
Any suggestions on what I should hit up?
Are you looking specifically for something downtown or as close as possible? If so, Bailey's, Fatheads, Deschutes.

Otherwise, Upright, Commons, Breakside.
