I just picked up an all-grain batch at the LHBS (I pick a recipe and they load and grind all the grains for me). Problem is that I'm still working on bringing up my efficiency and I fear ending up with a beer that is too thin or weak or both. The recipe includes 8lbs of grain total for 5 gals. I think I need to get up to about 10, based on my last two batches. Here is what I'm thinking:
1. Just go back and get more grain at the same ratios to get me up to 10lbs.
2. Add adjuncts to get the OG up where it needs to be (any suggestions?)
3. Boil it down to a smaller volume (I haven't done any calculations yet).
What do you think? Thanks in advance.
