I'm going to be in PGH (Sewickley, really). I would love to try some Dancing Gnome and I see that they can - they even have a release on Saturday. Is this a shitshow or would I likely be able to roll in mid-afternoon and grab some cans? I don't really care about any specific release, I've just been trying to keep up on the PGH breweries. Going to try to make it Brew Gentlemen, too, but again, probably just picking up, not staying.

Also - what's up with Drai Laag changing its name? They made some weird ****, but it wasn't bad.

Depends on the can in my experience. I’ve been lucky swinging by around 2 and other times the initial line for the most part sells it out. Check their facebook/twitter for updates, they are pretty good about updating the can amounts.

DL is starting to brew non-completely bat **** crazy offerings to go along with their bat **** crazy offerings so they changed their name.

My hunch would be that the DG cans will go quickly, given that it's a new DIPA. They are pretty good about updating their IG account when either the line or the supply deplete, so I'd check that first.

The scene/crowd at gnome is practically unbearable on saturdays (yet I go consistently) and with a new DIPA I’d guess it’ll be gone by 1:30. If you want to try some cans I’ll gladly meet somewhere north of the city - Wexford Whole Foods isn’t too far from sewickley. I have some of the stuff they’ve dropped over the past few weeks. Just PM me.

I stopped at Yellow Bridge in Delmont for the first time on Friday. I had tried one of their IPAs at Tapped in Greensburg a few weeks back and was pleasantly surprised. They were having a can release and I thought two drafts I had along with the canned DIPA were really good. Not quite up to BG or Dancing Gnome, but really good nonetheless.

I was at Cellar Works in Sarver last Friday and thought almost everything on draft was very good to excellent. They also serve BBQ from the place next door which is always a good thing.

Butler Brew Works last week and found it to be much better then expected after listening to Shuggy. BBW had a belgian triple brewed with oyster and some fruit that was excellent and a very good Kolsch.

Quinn Brewing in Irwin - Terrible location in an office Park but if I lived out that way, I'd stop in for the pool table and live music and the beer is reasonable so long as you're not looking for an IPA.

Leaning Cask in Springdale has a cool vibe and will be my go to for British styles and weekly cask offerings.

There are four(yes, four, I can't believe it either) breweries in Butler now. Somehow you managed to pick the worst one and find their beer palatable. Oyster and fruit tripel? GTFO The corporate life has ruined you.

I'm sure it's possible to temp control those plastic fermenters, but that'd be the least of my concerns with those.

Stopped in about a month ago for the first time. They had a belgian quad that I really enjoyed. The altbier was ok.

Their 1 year anniversary is coming up and they said there would be some events planned for that.

I'm sure it's possible to temp control those plastic fermenters, but that'd be the least of my concerns with those.

Last place I worked built fermentation cellars and used ACs to regulate the temperature. It worked out well enough, maybe slightly higher than ideal in the dog days of summer but kept it pretty consistent. They weren't ideal, but as long as you are vigilant with regards to sanitation and temp stability your beer shouldn't really suffer. They did put in some stainless fermenters and a bright shortly after I left, guess I'll find out how that is working out next time I stop by.
