I'll chime in and basically reiterate most of what was already said. Black Magick and Zangief are very different and which one you prefer will boil down to what you like in stouts. My immediate reaction to Zangief was that it reminded me of '14 Assassin, a beer I enjoyed but didn't love. Probably the biggest bodied Voodoo stout I've had, definitely on the drier of the BA stout spectrum, big oak flavor, and a hint of soy in the back end. Black Magick was quite a bit sweeter and noticeably thinner while still being pretty far from thin. Both had a very big barrel presence. I'm admittedly not very sensitive to alcohol/booziness in stouts so I didn't get the heat that some said they got. For me, I liked Black Magick more but I can definitely see the masses being split on it.

Quadfather was pretty fantastic as previous batches have been Good Vibes on draft was better than it's ever been. Stop sleeping on these. They're both damn good.

But, I did not care for the firkin. I thought the adjuncts overpowered it all and it was messy. The bitter chocolate flavor was too much for me. Not my thing.

Appreciate the thoughtful review here and really don't mean to stir up the **** stew but seriously, would it have been THAT difficult to post a gif at the end?

I know it's Monday but come on Mike.

I was more interested in hearing what Stigs thought, iwbh.

Learned that Grove City is actually a town and not just a mall. ABGM33 somehow got even worse with time. Firkin had a bit too much Nesquik.

Made a diorama of a release in Homestead #artimitatinglife

See yinz in 2019.

Is that all we have to do to get Stigs to post in here more often? Ask him?

He p. clearly said "see you in 2019", you big dummy.

But I saw that ninja at BG just a couple of weeks ago. He fancies himself as retired, but he's still out there, lurking in the shadows.

Apparently Voodoo had their corker modified so it can now handle bottle sizes up to 15L. If they're not just trolling and they actually do release a BRC Nebuchadnezzar sometime I need to find a lot more friends....or a lot more livers. Maybe a bigger fridge.

All I can think about is some drunk ***** trying to pour a 15L bottle and dropping it to see it explode on the floor.

Christ...what kind of stupid ******** are they gonna put in their IPAs and adjunct stouts?

I mean, why the **** do they need to change the name to make different beer?

Maybe all marketing related and no one knowing how to spell their name out the gate? I thought maybe it is a good way to reset poor beer ratings but I don't think they have poor ratings unless nothing over 4 is bad. It's pretty odd to scrap your brand entirely.

I toured GI a few years back and to prove how tough the glassware they used for their sours was the tour guide dropped a full 750 Halia from about 5 feet onto concrete and the bottle was fine. Guess they can take a beating. I think Matt Dillon killed Denise Richards with a Madame Rose in Wild Things.
