Looking for places close to downtown. If BG and Voodoo are too far, I doubt Blue Dust is going to make the list.Is Blue dust still good? How about doublewide? Sharp Edge still hated as much?
Smallman Galley's a cool concept, but definitely isn't a party spot if that's what your group's looking for. Fatheads and Pipers are two of if not the two best beer bars in the city, and while South Side is a ******* drunken nightmare on weekends, and normally not something I'd recommend to anyone over 25, it might be just the thing you guys are looking for on a bachelor party trip. Even if you're not looking to go that hard, I'd still recommend stopping by on Sunday -- it'll be much calmer, and despite what some haters might say, fatheads brews great beer, and piper's has one of the best tap lists in the city. And they're close to where you're staying. And good food at both.

Sharp Edge is stupid expensive, but if you guys are made of money, there is a Sharp Edge pretty convenient to where you're staying that'll have a bunch of Belgian and craft beers on tap.
If I were going to southside, I'd definitely go to fatheads and pipers before doublewide. But if they keep drinking long enough, maybe they'll make it down there eventually.
How about the Harris Gill downtown location. That should be walkable
One of the dude's we're going with gets drunk and throws his money around a little more than he should, but one is also super cheap, so I guess we'll see.Looking for places close to downtown. If BG and Voodoo are too far, I doubt Blue Dust is going to make the list.

Nice! I've enjoyed most all the beers I've tried from themWhat's that you say, Insurrection? You're brewing an English-style barleywine? To put into bourbon barrels?

And what constitutes "super expensive"? We're used to NYC prices haha

I'm going to stop by Dancing Gnome on Sunday. Any idea what line will be like? I've never been in town to grab a release, and would like to grab a couple of 4 packs if available.
Do you know what time that was? Would like to be home by kickoff...Last time they did Infinite Highway it was pretty long, but after the line was cleared there were still plenty of cans to go around.

I live like 10 minutes away and I don't think I was home by 1. But (I think) that was both the first Saturday release AND the first Infinite Highway release, so maybe the crowd/hype will be less? I don't know. I haven't been to a DG can release since that one so I don't know what they've been like lately.
I've gone around 12:30 for the past couple weekend releases and didn't stand in line and was in and out. The crowd inside was packed with everyone having pours after the cans, so I've skipped that. Thanks for the heads up. I'll set up a tent tomorrow morning.
I've heard rumors of $14 Chimay drafts at Sharp Edge so I curiously went to their website to see & those clowns let their site registration lapse. In closing, **** The Sharp Edge.I haven't been there in a while but I'd say most drafts will be around $8-10 for anything decent. Not appallingly high but more than it should be for the area. So I'm sure it will still be cheaper than you're used to.
Proper and Sieno Mercado are within walking distance and I would gladly go there before Sharp Edge. Also, Southern Tier has a brewpub near the stadiums. Penn is pretty close and has great food. Finally, Lawrenceville is pretty close and Roundabout would be a must stop. One of the dude's we're going with gets drunk and throws his money around a little more than he should, but one is also super cheap, so I guess we'll see.

Edit: If going to Dancing Gnome then Hitchhiker just opened their new place near there too. Grist House would also be on the way there.
If I had 2 nights and wanted to stay close I'd do Fat Heads, Pipers and Carson St Deli on night one and the Penn, Grist House, Hitchhiker, Dancing Gnome and Roundabout the next.

Not that any of you **** asses care because it's not canned and we don't have a G in out name but we drop a Double IPA Sunday and it doesn't suck.
