SO, A group and I will be coming to Pittsburgh this Friday and staying through Monday for a bachelor party. We already know about Brew Gentleman, which we hope to get to, and Dancing Gnome which we will likely get to, but what else do you guys suggest?

We're staying at Marriott City Center, and would love suggestions for the best beer bars, or just cool environments in general, ie really cool/unique bars, best dive bar, etc. Also trying to stay as local as possible, but not afraid to Uber.

We'll also be attending Farm Aid Saturday and the game Sunday if anyone wants to tailgate/bottleshare.

Thanks in advance!

Breweries other than those 2...
Voodoo
Grist House
Insurrection
Roundabout
Hitchhiker

That's about all that are worth going to off the top of my head.
Are any of those semi close (10 minutes ish) to the hotel?

Primarily looking for beer bars actually.

Unfortunately, "beer bars" are something that Pittsburgh sort of lacks. Good ones, anyway. There are a few scattered here or there that have something, but it's not a strong suit of the city by any stretch.

I'd say just go for broke and Uber out to Brew Gentlemen and Voodoo in Homestead/Braddock and then Hitchhiker and Dancing Gnome in Sharpsburg and skip the rest, but that's just me.

If it were up to me, that's what we'd do, but it's a group of 8. We checked Google Maps and Dancing Gnome was 10 minute car ride and that seemed fine, but people were waffling when it can to 20 minutes for Brew Gentleman...

And that's a real bummer that Pittsburgh doesn't have many great beer bars.

Tell them to suck it up.

Where you guys are staying isn't doing you any favors though, unfortunately. It's a very central location if you're in town for a sporting event or something, but for things like beer bars it's a pretty bad spot to be in. I'm sure you had no choice though considering why you're visiting.

BG, DG, Voodoo are all worth visits don't get me wrong...and I'd head there before the South Side any day of the week. But if you're trying to please the masses, FH and Piper's are the best of both worlds. And Piper's usually has at least a handful of local options...food at both locations are incredible.

if ur looking for unique places, smallman galley is a restaurant incubator and has dope food and arguably best draft list for local options and rare taps u won't find anywhere else in pgh

Beat me to it. Seems like the perfect place to please everyone, and it's only 1 1/2 miles from his hotel.
