Anyone have one of each of the Exploration & Discovery bottles from BG that they are looking to unload? Trying to help an out of town trading partner out.

Mosaic Jam is ******* delicious. Infinite Highway very good after a couple weeks in the cans too.

After trying more cans, I've reached the conclusion that these are the only 2 that I really think are worth trying. Nothing is overtly bad. But nothing is impressive either save these 2.

In cans or in general at DG? Ive still never had B1or2. I think Exquisite Beast is good, but its not one of my favorites.

Headrush cans werent as good as I remembered on tap. Its a very complex beer, but not very refreshing for pale ale.

New IPA Etch from DG sounds interesting. I dont think ive had anything with Enigma hops before.

Astroid and Spy Dolphin cans this week too. I cant keep up with these releases lol

BG Pils?

Stopped in to Voodoos new spot in Meadville and it's friggin' gigantic. Pretty quiet in there on Sunday but 24 beers on tap. 4 or 5 years of BBVD, 2 Live Gran Cru #3, Taco Flavored Kisses, and unbarrel BM. No real food options to speak of but looked to be in the works. I did not get to try much with the fam with me but the amount of people it could hold and brewing space was very impressive.
Did you try the bm?

Lustra was clearly the best of the crop. I had that first and was fairly impressed by it.

Hate to bring beer talk back to the thread but I had a can of Better 1 or 2 last night courtesy of Whitney Houston's widow and it was a lot better than the draft of it I had a while back. Fairly impressive to be completely honest.
Maybe you just use that word too much?

I confused Infinite Highway with Better 1 or 2. That's all. Lustra left no lasting impression on me as I don't even remember trying it. Mosaic Jam is really good though.
Lustra is probably my favorite beer they make. I can't hang with Double Ipa's much anymore but I think I like better 1 or 2 more than Infinite because I don't love Galaxy hops.

Infinite Highway looked more appealing to me hop wise than Better One or Two, but I ended up liking B1o2 significantly more.

I'm starting to reach this conclusion as well. I don't think they stack up well against citra, columbus, mosaic, or even chinook. This explains why everyone seems to have a raging stiffy over Albatross but it does nothing for me.

I drank my last can of B1 or 2 a few days ago while changing the oil in my wife's car. I'm not sure if it was the dirt & oil in the air but I thought it was the best I had tasted from DG thus far. I would also like to throw my hat in DIPA's are not my jam hat. I thoroughly enjoy lustra as it falls in my ideal abv range.

I was reminded how tasty Founder's All Day IPA is when it is fresh the other night. I need to keep my eyes open for fresh cans when I am beer shopping.
I feel like it's also way better fresh and on draft. That's a beer that I wouldn't mind seeing be the $5 22 oz at Mad Mex sometime.

I just drink too fast and prefer quantity if a beer is good. The days of drinking 6+ DIPAS for me is over.

Same here. Plus, I think the past few years of drinking (primarily) Stillwater Classique has permanently shifted my palate. I used to love BA Barleywines and Stouts. Now, I would be fine if I never drank another BA Barleywine again. Way too sweet. BA Stouts (non-Pastry) tend to have at least some roast that cuts through the sweetness, so I still buy some here and there.

I guess in Beer 2017, it's not necessarily a bad thing to have a bit of an aversion to Pastry Stouts, BA BWs, and Sweet NEIPAs. Makes my life a whole lot easier*. Just give me 4-6% pils, saison, or IPA all damn day.

*'cept when I'm checking that Etre page a few times a day. To quote the fake priest from Kingpin "It's my only vice."

Ok so I brewed a saison in December. Just Belgian Pale Malt/Raw Spelt from Weatherbury Farms in Avella,Pa/Carapils/Low Alpha Crystal hops. Whirlpool-ed it with Pineapple Sage and Meyer lemon zest/juice(was going for my own take on a Fantome type of beer). I let it cool overnight and only pitched my clean saison yeast but it's gotten nice and tart and definitely picked up some wild yeast/bacteria. Bottled end of April, it finished at 1.000 and comes in around 5.8% abv . I have about 2 bottles that aren't spoken for if anyone wants to meet up sometime next week or if you are one of the guys who live a bit further I can mail with some local stuff. Also I should have some other stuff ready in the next couple months that I am being forced to bottle due to moving so If you are interested I can get you some next time.
