If you don't like cloudy hoppy beer, you're ******.
I really like BGs hoppy, cloudy beers though.

What do you see as the difference between the two that makes you not like DG?
Good question. I'm not refined enough to point out very many specific things. The first visit was several months ago. I had Pharmakon, Jam and Guyasuta. This time, last Friday, I tried Pounce, Exquisite Beast and Headrush.
I don't remember enough about the first three to point out specifics, but 2 of the 3 had a very distinct green onion character to them that I hated. I found that in the Exquisite Beast as well. Pounce was the most approachable of all six I've tried, but ultimately felt the Citra dominated the other hop variatal that they used with it... Which is escaping me right now and it's not on their website anymore since it's kicked. Headrush I hated, but the first hop on the bill was Centennial, which I traditionally don't care for.

How do you feel about other breweries who are making kick-ass hazy IPAs like Grist House?
I still struggle to shake the smoked beer I had from them a while back though. That was rough.

I've found the cans (and that is my only recent experience with them) to have a great nose on them. The onion character is something I noticed on Lustra, and I liked it. A comparison in my opinion would be really fresh OB Gubna.Haven't had any hoppy beers from Grist House.
I second what PSUMike said about a lack of nose on the beers at DG though. One of the ones I just had, I think it was Beast, I struggled to get literally anything from it on the nose.
Guyasuta's got Equinox, which many say imparts a green pepper kinda character.Good question. I'm not refined enough to point out very many specific things. The first visit was several months ago. If you don't like Centennial or green onion, I can see why you hated Headrush. The other hop is Eureka, which is pretty chive/garlic heavy.
Pounces uses Citra & Mosaic.
All good, no argument here, opinions are opinions, etc., but I don't understand when people say they get no aroma from DG's beers. I'll be the first to admit I don't have the best olfactory sense (deviated septum, frequent congestion, etc.), & still have never found DG stuff to be lacking in this department.

For those who care, here are some neat links to what causes that flavor:

Why are you so angry?James, STFU and keep your ego in check. You're just a homebrewer like the rest of us.
Why are you so angry?

Still a bit out from opening in Sharpsburg but curious if you ***** be interested in a soft opening of the new spot? Maybe a bottle share as well so we don't have to drink garbage the whole time. Holler at your boyscout.
That actually sounds good to me. Took me a while to remember Fire on the Hill isn't a smoked beer. I just kept assuming where there's fire there's smoke, and was perpetually disappointed.I think it was a one-off. Just too smoky for me. Didn't know what to expect but it was like drinking cigarette ash.
