Unfortunately doing it at home versus professionally doesn't separate people's level of brewing knowledge. He knows more about brewing chemistry than the majority of the Pittsburgh professional brewers.

I'll second that (while dodging the comparison to the local pro brewers). He & Malcolm are prolly the most "deep science" homebrew guys I've met.

While I certainly appreciate the props, fellas, I won't ****-up this thread with technical information regarding hops. SO much massively interesting new information/research out there, though.

What can I say, I like my music to sound good.

I do have bluetooth headphones for the record player though so I don't wake the kids up by blasting the tunes.

Vinyl isn't that much more expensive than buying digital and you usually get the digital for free. Showing off your "Enter the 36 Chambers" LP will up your chances of flogging some strange puss. If you like standing in lines as much as most people from Pittsburgh you can participate in Record Store Day.

Like 99.5% of my music listening occurs in a situation where vinyl wouldn't be possible... At work, while working out/doing yard work, and in the car. Do you guys just sit and listen to music pretty often? I don't know the last time I did that.

My parents had a huge record collection and my sister and I loved going back and forth playing songs. Most of my favorite memories of growing up involve a record player. Keep collecting and pass them on dude, your kids will thank you
