Does anyone here actually buy/enjoy Pumking? I tried it for the 1st time last fall. I'm not big on pumpkin anything but I thought it was pretty rough.

I can enjoy an pumpkin beer but i agree that Pumking is a bit rough at 8sih%ABV.

Roundabout makes the best pumpkin beer there is no room for argument on the subject my opinion is the right one.

Sure, I do. One bottle a year's enough, but it's in my Paste magazine-esque "Top 10 Most Nostalgic Beers" list, & I genuinely like the taste.

That's how I imagine out-of-towners that go to Primantis feel.

We're talking about sandwiches here, not some artisanally crafted entree with seasonally exotic ingredients. Two slices of bread and **** in the middle. I've never had a sandwich that changed my life and that includes Primanti's. Sandwiches cannot be that special.

I would equate a sandwich connoisseur with someone that has a list of their top 50 brown ales.

See, for six dollars and fifty cents that looks delicious to me. Yes i'd dump hot sauce on it.

Dammit, man, I was so amped for that list.

If your wife and her friends are regular beer consumers then yes those results would mean something. I feel like there has to be pictures of you on some old Angelfire site of you flexing in Camo and Zumba pants in front of the entire room filled with your FIRST PLACE homebrew awards. Obviously issued by governing bodies with elite unquestionable credentials.
I thought it didn't matter who conducts the tasting? Finishing at the top is all that counts.

FIRST PLACE homebrew awards lol. Is that a serious comment? That's like the MVP of a Pop Warner football league legitimately thinking he's better than Tom Brady for getting 2nd place in the NFL MVP Voting.

Also, why in the hell would your FIRST PLACE homebrew awards have any more credibility than a magazine read by millions around the country? And what nominal beer drinker gives a **** about your FIRST PLACE homebrew awards?
It was beer tasted by people you don't know in an unknown manner that was judged to be the best so those awards mean everything.

I have A LOT of homebrewing medals and I am easily the worst ******* brewer in the world per the Internet.

Those medals clearly mean something, right?
You're the Manziel of brewing.

Sp how are so many people in here claiming they've never heard of Paste? When the blind taste testing of 116 IPAs came out last year, I'm pretty sure there was a discussion of some sort about it.

Second, from the article, "Tasters included professional beer writers, brewery owners, multiple professional brewmasters, beer reps and multiple BJCP-certified tasters." So I think it's a little unreasonable to say they were a bunch of dummies who don't know what they're talking about. The fact that there's a pretty obvious correlation between well-ranked beers in this tasting, whether it's GABF or other medals, high ratings on BA/RB, etc only solidifies that these guys aren't completely off their rocker.

Everyone of course is entitled to their opinion. But can the people who disagree with the ranking take one ****** minute off from their keyboard-comando-ing, and spewing their opinions that nobody asked for, and just be happy for BG?

Congrats to brewgentlemen, ZachBrewGentlemen, Rjdillman and crew. I for one think this is pretty ****** cool.

Now on a serious note, is anyone else in line here at BG yet for the release of Akamai? I think it's a safe assumption they'll be out of that and General Braddock's by the end of the day.

That for Younger?

Due to ur boy catlicks' words of wisdom, I would like to apologize for my overly harsh and insensitive comments I made about Draai Laag. After they kicked my kids out of the brewery and some ******* dropped a slice of pizza on my back and then ate the damn thing during a beer release, I have been struggling with that place.
That was the sweatiest tastiest most satisfying grease slab i've laid my esophageal cells around.

Going on Saturday for the first time, since I'm in town. I can only hope for the same caliber of ponytail/plaid shorts combo.

let ur boy catlicks boil things down...

pittsburgh needs any favorable craft beer publicity it can get. if u can't be happy for large wins by BG or DL on the city's behalf, then, in my opinion, u don't know what craft beer is about -- especially in a city like pittsburgh. and to be frank, the community would be better off without u.

Wish IBT7k were to back you up on this, provide some credibility.

Skipped out for some day-drinking today; found myself at Pipers, where some fresh Akamai was waiting. Couldn't convince Hart to tap the firkin of SSU w/ ghost peppers, but still good drinking.
