Anybody have the new Orange Blossom Wheat from the best PA brewery ever, Doc G's? Heard it's a big hit. Review has gone viral.
How many years ago did they last release that beer? Building hype ever since. it was bound to be a **** show no matter how they handled it. Just reading through some of those comments it makes my head hurt how some people act about beer.I knew it was going to be a clusterfuck. I didn't even bother with it.
That's why I got in and out of the crazy beer game pretty quick. I love beer but hate the people who drink it. Kinda like sublime I like the music but hate white guys with dread. How many years ago did they last release that beer? It's every 3 years right? So building hype for 6 years, with a little hype alleviated at the second release 3 years ago. And pretty sure the first release was also pretty seriously pre-hyped. What with Yellow Bus, Veritases, etc., Lost Abby sours get a reasonable amount of auto-hype. I don't know what I'm saying anymore. How many years ago did they last release that beer? Haven't been back since the problem plagued soft opening four weeks ago or whenever that was. It's Butler so you know it's magical though. Nothing can stand in our way.
My fav would probably be the 12 pack of Genny ice/cream buzz. Gets you just to the place where you can function completely fine but are def starting to make plans you absolutely won't keep except splitting the next 12 pack with your friend who is still with you.Do you guys have favorite beer buzzes? Not sure what it is, but I ******* love me an HDR buzz. On par with fat heads. Not talking about the beer at all...just the type of buzz.
Roundabout just posted on Instagram they have crowlers of Ginga and their Rye IPA to go. They purge and pre-fill them.
I think they're filling them via some method designed to limit oxidation. Aka, not just pouring straight from tap to crowler. Not sure what it is exactly thoughK I'm lost on this one. Whats the point in pre-filling them?
There's a brewey here in my hometown doing quite well for themselves. You're correct, we do make things that are similar. That's because we're trying to get better at it. We're talking about practice.
*fanboy chiming in* This is correct. Steve says they plan to have between two and four draft options ready to go in quart cans from here on out. They are using a counter pressure filler in the brewery to make sure the beer won't be compromised. Anyone who has spent time at Roundabout knows that Steve is incredibly critical of his beers so they are filling them in the back and using some piece of lab/brewery equipment (that someone else surely knows the name of) to check the ppm of oxygen in each can. He said he was surprised to see how low the reading was, and it's in fact a lot lower than a lot of small brewery's bottling lines. It's been in the works for about a month now, going through various tests and experiments, and he's confident that as long as the cans are kept refrigerated, that they will be "brewery fresh" for at least 3 weeks (or more, depending on the style).I think they're filling them via some method designed to limit oxidation. All due respect. Your a complete ******* idiot. Is this a yinzer thing? Why is it that when somebody has a differing opinion the goto is that they need to open a brewery? At least you didn't go with a gif so good on you I guess.
Forget about clarity!!!!

Edit: I hope the sterile environment continues to keep all you turds away
My guess is that the upfront cost of this method is way cheaper than a full canning line. In addition to that, they have to buy the quart cans 2500 at a time and are splitting that with Independent Brewinf Co to use in their crowler machine. Also I have nothing to back this up, but from talking to him last night I would venture to say that he could fill growlers as well. However he said that since essentially they are hand filling every Quart Can, they don't really have the manpower to lose one of them off the floor to fill people's growlers, hence the prefilled, recyclable cans. Thanks for the info. Since science is involved i will definetly play the ignorant card, but what makes this different than actually canning. I know you mentioned bottling, didn't know if canning was different. Also couldnt they just get one of those counter pressure fillers for growlers. Again I have never experienced a growler being filled with this method, but doesnt it accomplish the same thing? I do applaud them for going to great lengths to make sure the quality is the highest priority though.
The probably getting filled from the bright tank as well so there is less opportunity for oxidation compared to transfer to keg then vesselThanks for the info. Man we really need a good donut place that isn't run by a crooked, homophobic *******. I've recently had Fractured Prune in Rehoboth and Duck Donuts in Charlottesville and they were both revelatory (as far as donuts go). #talkdonutDunno how upset I'd be. Don't you feel like all their donuts taste like...the same? That mess was prolly donut self-immolation, no?

Phenomenal donuts. They go by Just Good Donuts and I think they are making a whole separate business.I've heard good things about the donuts at the Pub Chip Shop but haven't tried them.
