Firmly believing that the beer coming out of there is top five in quality is completely delusional. It's not even top ten. Why haven't you gone there? How will they grow and thrive without your support? Should I help them grow and thrive by giving them my money even though I don't care for their product? There's a reason why they rarely get talked about.

I firmly believe you are delusional as well.

The main point of my post is that publicly shitting on a brewer/brewery while providing zero constructive criticism is not going to help anything. There are better ways to go about it. Do what you will though.

Can you explain what's delusional about the second half of my post?

I'm a firm believer that your palate is heavily influenced by different combinations of beers, especially ipa's. For example, my wife and i went to voodoo a few weeks ago, i got secret pizza party and she got vandelay industries. This was the first time we've had either beers. We both really liked our respective beers, but when we tasted each other's, we both thought they were straight up terrible. I definitely got some of that sweaty gym sock when i tasted the vandelay, but it 100% had to do with what i was drinking beforehand. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it's probably a waste to be trying a bunch of ipa's in one sitting i attribute that to increased volume of hops in newer style ipa's (especially these super aromatic ipa's).

I think if we had more group bottle shares we would all be able to understand each others pallets, and the flavors each of us lean towards. Or we could just become better friends, and a stronger community. Either way there would be more bottle shares.:D

Look at Sam, he makes it to one bottle share in the last month and all of the sudden its "we need more bottle shares". :p

Didn't your mother teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, then use an anonymous alias on the Internet and shitpost all about the subject which you don't have anything nice to say?

Haha how is it an anonymous alias? I'd be willing to bet about 80% of the people on here know who I am in person.

Also, I sort of meant that everyone here knows who jagoffbrewer is, so he isn't anonymous. So, per internet rules, he isn't really allowed to trash the breweries who made the beers in question.

Ha, I just had the sense to figure this out for myself. Jesus, I can be dense.
Nobody knows me, so I am just here to anonymously stir the pot.
Plus you're from, like, four hours away. That's how long it takes to get to Sarver, right?

5 - 5.5 hours.

Hoping Levity Brewing Co ends up being decent, because it would give me a brewery to stop at when I avoid the Turnpike using 422.

I would venture to say about 80% of the people on this board know each other outside of the internet or at the very least, be able to pick each other out of a crowd. There are only 3-4 regulars here who I haven't met before.

Stating exactly what I didn't like about each beer isn't being constructive? I guess you're in the camp that thinks saying everything is on point is helpful.

Everything about it. Thinking me or anybody else from a website is the face of a city to the rest of the nation is nutty. You haven't even been to all of the local breweries but you can state unequivocally that they are producing beer of a much higher quality than the majority of the US? None of these breweries are going to have lines out the door for regular releases and why would you want that anyways?

Got to GEMDRFL this morning for groceries/beer and there were 4x 4 packs of Nimble Giant left. Has anyone seen this around anywhere else?

Randy said yesterday that he thinks all MD stores were getting it, and PSUMike mentioned that Save On in the north hills will be selling cases.

I'm down for a bottle share any time at Bayardstown because we may actually own it.

I haven't had any Hitchhiker beers but I do know that when I finally get to try them I will make sure to **** on them on this forum, whether I like them or not, because I am a very important person and my opinion matters and I am not in any way delusional.
Please do but make sure your descriptors are FRESH. I've obviously beaten the garbage related descriptors to death. Two others here have the market on vomit and gym socks descriptors covered. Aim for something new like rotting baby corpse or unkempt vagina.

Fair enough, to each their own. I'm happy to meet you at hitchhiker for a beer to discuss further if you'd like.

I had Bane of Existence on cask at Pipers once, tasted like skunk mung and the Nights Kings butt plug. I took one sip then immediately moved to Dallas and got a vasectomy.

I'm kidding, it was good, wanna try it on CO2 tho, wanted a little more pop.

I think there might be a new "shame" gif in there somewhere, amirite?

Any word on if BJCP is creating a new vomit and gym sock IPA sub style? The average BJCP judge should be able to easily pick out what beers fit into that style.

You're definitely on to something. We all need man up, drive over some bridges, through some tunnels, and share some more beer with each other.

Haha, wish it was sooner rather than later. I think Scott is the exception for sure. Based on his outward business decisions, he seems to have an utter disdain for the new craft beer movement and will continue to do things "his way" regardless of how it polarizes the community.

Hey, did you guys here about the new EE release? It's a DIPA in wax-dipped AND corked/caged bombers.

just kidding

I've been campaigning for garbage style in IPAs but to no avail. Jumping the shark would probably be in the best interest of the local and national beer scene. I'll bend Gordon's ear when I see him next month.

Don't sell yourself short. If you think that was shitting on those beers, then you are certainly delusional.

So guise, how is Hoof Hearted anyway? I've never had any of their beer, but I have a couple showing up today. Are they green pepper or stanky vagina-ish? Or are they gonna be okay?
