I still think Trillium is 100% better than Tree House.

I don't think it's a company that has it in their name. There is only one place in Pittsburgh I can think of that would post an ad like that haha.Maybe this? There are so many "artisan ale" compies out there. http://www.artisanales.net/#BreweryPortfolio
Oh and I was mistaken, Scaled Way Up is my favorite beer from Trillium, not Heavy Mettle (though HM is very good)
...we just want someone who likes good beer and can professionally represent ours.

yesIs the Voodoo Homestead location worth a visit?
15-20 mins maybeHow far is it from downtown?
Can't help you with this, but you should just go...it will be worth it...I couldn't find a tap list for their location (no Facebook) any where else I could find it?
Voodoo Homestead is absolutely worth it. I'd say a quick 15 minutes to get there from Downtown. Brewery wise Roundabout in Lawrenceville maybe 10 minutes from downtown is worth a visit. If you end up at Voodoo might want to stop at Brew Gentlemen as well since they are in that general direction and are making some killer beers. Not sure if Voodoo posts their tap list anywhere else but it's worth a visit either way. They always have multiple things that are really good.I'm head to PIT tomorrow for Game 5 (Go Pens!) and I was hoping to hit up some good spots. Any recommendations? Steinbier means "stone beer" in German. It got its name from a technique of boiling wort in the brew kettle by dropping super-heated stones into the kettle. In the old days, many brew kettles were made of wood and obviously could not be direct-fired. The hot-stone method, therefore, was the only way the wort could be brought to a boil. Beer boiled this way also tasted different from "normal" beer, because the rocks, when dropped into the brew, scorched and caramelized some of the malt sugars. The result was a smokey-tasting deposit that literally sugar-coated the rocks.
Once the beer was strained from the brew kettle into the fermenter and had cooled down, the coated rocks were removed from the kettle, too, and dropped into the fermenting beer. There, the yeast made short shrift of the sugar coating. The result was a beer with a pleasantly smoky flavour and a slightly sweet, malt-candy-like finish. Steinbiers are now very rare indeed, because few breweries bother with this labor-intensive and dangerous method of beer-making. In the old days, many Steinbiers were brewed as ales, but nowadays, they are all lagers. Perhaps the best known of these is the Rauchenfelser Steinbier, which is occasionally avilable in North America.
they sure do...and they'll fill whatever glass you bring (figured that was the next logical question

The **** is a Steinbier? That's a term I've never heard of. I'm guessing it's some sort of lighter German lager?
EDIT:
Sounds kinda cool.
And it wouldn't be right not to mention that Church brew works is a good place to go for food and some beer not too far from downtown. I like the other breweries too and suggest going , but I have had only good experiences at CBW. Also, ChurchBrewCrew is active in the beer community.I'm head to PIT tomorrow for Game 5 (Go Pens!) and I was hoping to hit up some good spots. Any recommendations? Does Voodoo fill 750s?
I think Voodoo fills 750's but the charge would be for the 32 oz fill.Sorry...didn't mean growlers of all sizes...just meant they will fill non-voodoo glass...in other words, you don't have to buy one there.
But PSUMike might be right about sizes...don't know for sure. Aside from a select handful of breweries, 750s are atypical anyway if you ask me.
The story goes that this kind of flash steams some of the wort and caramelizes (Maillard reactions) it more than a traditional boil.
I know Libertine Brewing in San Luis Obispo does this. Their pub saison is pretty good. Drove by them when I was in California in April but didn't get to stop there. The **** is a Steinbier? That's a term I've never heard of. I'm guessing it's some sort of lighter German lager?

I don't think I've ever had a Cascade beer I've liked. A high ABV beer that is just lactic and sour with some fruit doesn't really appeal to me especially at their price point. They are basically doing really strong barrel aged Berliners and charging crazy amounts of money for them.looks like Cascade is hitting GEMDRFL today. Kreik, blueberry, Apricot, and Figaro available.

i agree with everyone else it seems, bottles are way too expensive and GEMDRFL is way too far out of my way. Just passing along the news to any millionaires in here who want some. You guys apply for your second home mortgage so you can score some Cascade bottles?![]()
