Fun fact about last nights episode of Silicon Valley, there was a very brief clip of a guy I graduated high school with. He was the guy that walked into the kitchen while Erlich was juicing and got yelled at ferociously. So that's the guy who fux.

Yeah there was no line haha

They roped off an area like in airports to direct people and there was absolutely nobody in line. Pretty sure everyone was just there for La Palapa. The guys at the counter were soooooo pumped when we went up to actually reserve cans.

Yeah that was sarcasm. I'd have been utterly shocked if their had been a line.

I went to Black Dinosaur release party. Not overly impressed with that beer. Sort of a mess. That review OneDropSoup posted from fb is pretty accurate. Would say that maybe with some time, it could straighten itself out but it's already been in bottles for 7 months. Some chocolate, literally vanilla ice cream, acidic, vinegar and faint caramel.

Relic is amazing though. I thought it was awesome. And I went into the back to check out the cabinet: it's really neat. Balanced, soft vinegar, lots of earthy, musty, hay happening with a nice apple, pear, peach fruit flavor going on.

La Pienture: I've never had it before, so I can't comment on past batches, but this is 100% worth going to grab. Absolutely phenomenal. Not quite as complex as traditional Belgian lambics, but still has a nice earthy/funky/sour cherry thing going on. It's splendid.

hurry! BA Gratitude is online for reservation! it probably most almost definitely won't sell out! hurry!

Also, on a beer related note. How do ya'll feel about sorachi ace as a hop? Its beyond weird in my opinion. I got some steady eddie from Union craft whilst in Baltimore over the weekend. That beer confused my tastebuds..
I find it buttery. In a good way. definitely a weird flavored hop though. single hopped's with it are hit or miss for me.

Damn he needs to come back to the show when he pulled off listening to crazy town I lost it. Would also love two see more of both lawyers. Great show but the great side charters never last long but u guess that is the charm of the show.

Because if they labeled it as "stein beer" some DDB level cicerone will complain that they cant detect the usage of steins in the beer and rate it a 1. And those that know it wasnt made with real steins will complain that it isnt a recognized beer classification per act 187 flipmode squad of the BJNOPECP

So I drink it out of a stein ?

So remember that movie theater that we were discussing last week? The one where Abjuration Brewing is opening up? If anyone was in any doubt about how cool & hipster they are, check THIS coolness out!

What in the world is that?

What in the world is that?
It's a documentary about - & created by - Andrew Wakefield, the British scientist who claimed that the MMR vaccine is linked to autism, & who was subsequently debunked & ostracized from the medical community. The thesis, from what I can tell, is that the CDC doctored the data & that Wakefield is still right. The movie theater that will house Abjuration Brewing is showing it.

Saw your Twitter exchange with them about the movie.

Though I want to stay a long day's hike away from the political implications innate to this topic, and in spite of knowing nothing of Abjuration Brewing and their external philosophies: I find it...bizarre that this may serve as a first impression, for many of the drinking masses, to their arrival onto the beer scene.

let's be honest here....they chose to call themselves "Abjuration Brewing"...taking a political stance might just be par for the course of making bad decisions.

I'm one to shy away from sharing political thoughts and opinions, especially in a group like this but I will chime in here. If 99.9999999999999999999999% of the scientific community thinks you're a scumbag, fraud, and a danger to mankind as a whole, I'm inclined to agree with them. But then again, what do they know. It's not like they have Jenny McCarthy's expert opinion backing them...

When I need medical expertise, I always go to the girl who's best known as being the obnoxious chick who showed a lot of cleavage on an MTV dating game show from the 90s. Carmen Electra could cure cancer if she could just get the damn funding to get her studies off the ground.

On a better note, Any Chicago beer highlights?

Went to FFF and 18th St. - both were a great time. Binny's ****** up my bank account royally. Bottles of Scotch sitting on shelves that I didn't even know existed. I knew that our state stores sucked, but I have a whole new perspective now.

I think of this video from Penn & Teller when the topic comes up

I know there's irony in taking your medical advice from celebrity magicians.

You are taking verbose to a new level!
