I have to agree with Greg here. Not to take away from Foshomo, but Albatross is seriously one of my favorite beers of this style period. I thought that II was top notch as well and I'm interested to see what people thought it when I backread the thread today. It had a ton of flavor.

Have one bottle of Foshomo left in the fridge that has been staring me down the past few days. Kind of like a zookeeper dangling a piece of raw meat in front of a hungry tiger's face.

You were able to get Foshomo growlers Wed through when the kegs kicked. hunterpgh let me check with Eric, but I am pretty sure I can get a II from him for you.

EDIT: Confirmed. I'll bring it on Sunday.

http://www.brewgentlemen.com/menu - unless this is out of date they still have II bottles. I might dip down there for some more Albatross Wednesday night

Loved them both, but I put Albatross slightly ahead IMHO. I thought Foggy Mountain was really good as well.

Granted, I had 3 tasters. In order, it was Foshomo, II, and then Albatross so I wasn't going in on a clean palette but I really enjoyed Foshomo. I thought Albatross smelled better but didn't taste nearly as good. It's odd because I generally prefer galaxy to mosaic but I liked Foshomo a lot more than Albatross.

Foggy Mountain was nice for what they were going for but I thought it was too thin compared to their other pales which I'm usually a fan of.

YMMV

In sad news, my bottle of Psycho Hose Beast did not hold up, cracked my remaining bottle last night. Almost no carbonation and kinda turned into a mess, flavor wise. I was bummed because I loved that beer on tap.

Welp. Guess I should open mine, huh? Still have one of the Heaven Hill version.

I was planning on opening one this weekend. I'll hopefully not have the same results

I am a big fan of barrel aged stuff. Anyone had Old Knobby Stock Ale (the barrel aged version of Knebby)? Anyone think this is worth picking up? Or is Gratitude by far the best barrel aged offering of this brewery? I am amazed at the low ABVs of East End's barrel aged stuff.

Just my humble opinion, but I think Old Knobby is better than BA Gratitude. I bought three bottles of it last year. Just drank one maybe a month or so ago and really enjoyed it.

kidding - never had BA Knebs

I really enjoy it. Lots of vanilla. When I had both back to back at the Good Wood fest last year where BA Grat was revealed, I thought Old Knobby was significantly better.

We do indeed. And we apologize for any sub-par bottles of Psycho Hose Beast - those were the pre- ZachBrewGentlemen days.

Tell that ninja to do a BA wheat wine. I love that style and seemingly no one does them.

I truly did enjoy the HH version on tap though. It was hot, but I liked it. I guess I'll open mine this weekend and see what it's like now.
