That's not a terrible deal. I'd look forward to drink spontanbasil, blossomgueuze, de cam kriek, and mad jerez in addition to the cantillons.

I had the spontanbasil at vintage estate awhile back and it was top notch. Funky, cheesey, acidic and the basil gave it a ton of complex earthy/herbal qualities. I absolutely loved it. But 35 bucks was too much to buy again. Would also love to try a bunch of that box.

I'm assuming you're Jacob on the BrewerBros group. I saw your posts from the last day or so debating on what venue to choose for a bottle share. Just wanted to chime in and say that Kickback is far and away the best public place to go to in Pittsburgh for a beer tasting with a group of people, and it's that accommodating and laid back that I would bet it's the best spot in the entire state of PA for something like this. Restaurants like Noodlehead and Piccolo Forno would never be ok with a group of dudes bringing 12+ bombers of beer and hanging around for hours. Kickback charges like $2 a person, has water coolers that you can help yourself to to rinse the glasses, has an open area with round chest high tables so you're not stuck at a table sitting the entire time, and is incredibly laid back. The people that work here are so nice and you never ever feel like you're overstaying your welcome or that they want you to leave. I can't say enough good things about the place.

I completely agree with you, I've only been to kickback once and I was surprised by how we were very unrestricted. I'll probably just end up selecting kickback as the location since, as you mentioned, it's probably the best possibly public spot in the city. The only other good option would be to have the share at someone's house, but maybe we can do that next time.

stakem explained it to me but I am stupid and forget the complete story but something about the Distributor for Girardin won't allow them or something now.
That makes sense. It sells for so much more over here. I bet shops in the US were buying from BIAB rather than the distributor, cutting into their revenue. You can still order 36 bottles, just not at the discount any more i guess.

Ive heard it spun a couple different ways now but for the most part it came down to the request of the brewery (whether or not that was influenced by the distributors im not sure but I think so.) When the different lambic brewers/blenders found out that webshops were selling their bottles online and shipping overseas it cuts into contractual distribution rights.

Girardin is not the only one. Tilquin too.

Yeah like I said I bought a 375 ml in Ohio for $14 but when I ordered the bulk pack it came to $13 for each 750 ml

Thanks pal. We should have ordered like 10 bulk packs. We failed at life.

Does Trappist World deliver to Pennsylvania? I keep getting an error saying that no carrier will deliver to my address... It's not a PO box or anything like that.

I know you want dem sexy 'Loons, but Trappist World sucks. You can go on Etre right now and fill a box with some Cantillon Gueuze, 3F Gueuze, and some Fantome (De Tous le D'iapes!!!) for less than $200 shipped.

Or just be smart, skip the Cantillon Gueuze, and go straight 3F and Tomes.

Agree on this. stakem should probably split another order with me, since he fuels my bad habit of buying from Belgium

Yeah and their website dicked up my order so now they want me to email them my card info. That ain't happenin', fellas.

Will give Etre a try now I imagine.

I'm actually happy with the box, although I didn't really give it any thought beforehand since i knew I had maybe a few seconds to make up my mind. Was a little more concerned about the wife's opinion after the purchase then anything else.If anyone is passing through the finger lakes this summer in NY and wants to drink some Belgians let me know!

If you haven't had those Cantillons before, and really want them, it's not a bad box at all, especially for a "once-in-a-while" splurge. Plus, you get those Lindemanseses.

I would've thought about it more had I not had too many "once-in-a-whiles" already...

Boy, I was wondering what I should get in cans to take to the lake in July. Looks like I don't have to pack up the canned IPAs, Boat Beer, or any of the Anderson Valley goses. I'll just bring the barrel-aged Gratitude.

Buy a bunch of these and hand them out at the next Steelers game when you see people shotgunning beers.
