to add my 2 cents, arthur and anna are both great, but i personally prefer anna. i really like clara as well. i think those three are all a step above florence. i also think dorothy is too bitter.
Although I haven't had a couple of those top saisons, I would probably take HFs over any of those without question. I also don't remember the difference between any of them. I can beer.

i would too. they're all so reasonably priced too at $10 each. this is what gets me all fired up about beer prices. heady is $3 a can and hf shelfies are $10 each. why is everything down here way more than that?

I prefer Arthur, but I am happy drinking any of them. Does anybody know when the transition happened from the classic DuPont saison Dry and peppery to the almost now standard tartness associated with saisons in the US?

Volume? I'd imagine that would play a pretty big part in keeping prices down. Alchemist churns out a lot more cans of Heady than anything around here.

To throw more **** on the Draai Laag shitstorm, I had that Caviar Oyster Laphroaig Seaweed Kale Chip Sun Chip Loch Ness Lobster Black Gose last night & ******* loved it. No need to insult me, I already hate myself, but the briny & smoky & roasted malt worked really well together. All the Play-Doh & Legos they tossed on the label was just **** to get nerds to talk about them if you're asking me.

I forgot to report back but I actually enjoyed mine as well. Kill me.

As well as the Razmata and the Banana saison. Kill me.

Razmata was really good. I said as much before and was met with scorn and derision.

I still won't touch that ******* seaweed beer though.

Holy crap that DL party on the other site turned fancy last night.

"if you don't like sours and wilds brewed in the city you live in you don't like sours and wilds and don't drink sours and wilds"

DG Agricolis on tap at Pipers, tasting like heaven's tits.

ISO nonlocal sex. Willing to go international on this one.

Tried Gocean and Nanabam. Thought they both were good. Gocean is pretty odd for certain but it somehow works as a smoked Gose. The Laphraoig is subtle but adds a bit. I thought it would be awful and it wasn't. Nanabam was just OK but $6 for a lower ABV (at least from DL) it is worth it. #beanbaganddoritobrownale #lampshadeandcutgrasshefe

McMatt7 let me tell you why that will never happen.

kbuzz actually really loves smokey beers... And what have some of our fellow TBers said about that beer, eh? Subtle smoke, right? He loves Laphroig too. Oh, how he loves Laphroig.

If Kevin actually tries that beer, and has to admit that he liked it, his universe will implode upon itself. He just can't risk it.

In all honesty, as much as I love Laphroaig, I'm not convinced that beer should be aged in its empty barrels. I think the thing that actually sounds like it might slightly help this stupid DL beer, however, is that it was in second use barrels (likely the same barrels from that other nastiness in which we were told that some might not be manly enough to partake).

That said, the dudes that drank it: did you taste the seaweed? The caviar? The seaweed? The oyster? If yes, how was that not gross? If no, what the **** was the point? Would a tasty gose have equally served the purpose?

You're going to be able to answer all of these questions for yourself soon enough. Don't you worry your pretty little head about it.

I love Gaucho's food. Why are some restaurants more expensive than they are?
there are a lot more variables involved in the restaurant industry. i feel comparing a can of ipa from one place to a can of ipa from another is reasonable. feel free to compare the cost and quality of gaucho's food to another byob argentinian grill (or whatever the hell they are).

I said this before and it got snowed under, but what about volume? A burger at Wendy's is cheaper than one at Burgatory and yes, quality of ingredients is part of that equation, but so is the volume of beef that one is purchasing over the other. Alchemist is brewing, canning and selling WAY more volume of Heady Topper than any local brewery here is of anything. That's going to effect the pricing in a major way.

How much do these special bottle release beers or 4 pack can things cost locally? Serious question i don't really know.

I know i get $50 worth of HF stuff every year from a pal of mine and i'm always happy with the quantity and quality.
