Must be a lot of cans if case limit PP, I would think.

On Wednesday, we will have 40 cases of Lustra, our most loved American Pale Ale, and ~50 cases of Infinite Highway, our Galaxy/Citra/Mosaic double dry-hopped, double IPA up for sale when we open at 4pm.

I have absolutely no idea what to expect, but here are some pertinent details:
  • Both beers are 16oz 4-packs
  • Lustra will be priced at $16/4-pack
  • Infinite Highway will be $18/4-pack

Last time I tried to get from dahhntahhn to DN on a weekday to be there for a 4pm opening it took me an hour and 15 minutes. Not practical for those of us with day jobs. I can't imagine those cans will last long.

Fresh MBP is still one of my favorite beers ever. Sadly, the last bottle, I opened was pretty tart and lost a lot of the honey and maple that evened out the smokiness. Same with the last tapping at homestead, but not as bad as the bottle. Bacon fudge brownies turned into cherries in an ashtray. There were also big chunks of black mass in the bottoms of our glasses after we dumped it. I think the people who have recently traded for their first bottle, or had it on tap at Huna are experiencing the latter, which is why it is getting a bad reputation lately.

It sucks because that beer in its prime holds its own against most of the big boys out there, and those people will never experience that and just write it off as an overhyped flavor of the week. It also fuels the fire when people put bottles like that up for trade before it is even released and ask for the world, because then they want to hate it before even having it. Sadly enough there are tickers out there who will trade for a hyped beer just for the satisfaction of shitting on it, whether it tastes good or not.

I hope you've peppered your Angus before posting this

Wood like to try Infinite Highway. I may mosey down there tomorrow evening, but it wouldn't be anywhere near opening. If anyone plans to be at the release and would be willing to spare a 4 pack if I miss out, I would be eternally grateful.

psbhockey12 this is an outsiders view of your trade attempt on here trying to move those MBPs:

I saw that. I guess he didn't get the memo that you're not allowed to mention MBP on the trade forum here.

Haha I seem to have learned that. I even had a gentlemen pm me to say with MBP posts comes the trolls. Said he thought the trade seemed more than fair but that's up to the one's who have kbbs to decide haha. I started out on BA but moved away from that after the bans/timeouts, no longer being able to comment on ISO:FT's and other annoyances. Switched from reading the Pitts thread there to here. Most of my trades have been Facebook or previous traders. Figured I'd give here a shot without doing my full homework of how MBP posts are received. Always learning haha

Interesting that your last bottle was something so different that what it had been. I opened one with a group maybe 6 weeks or so ago with guys from Chicago, NJ and WI. They all raved about it being one of the best beers they've ever had with a touch of smoke up front then followed by huge honey sweetness and then chocolatey finish. That's the first I had heard cherry tartness. Just glad I've never experienced that. It was phenomenal on tap during the recent customer appreciation week too. Got two pours that day.

Yeah, I'm definitely not the only one who has gotten the tart cherries. Seems to be very common for most that had pours that day. Since then, it's like everyone with bottles left is trying to unload them for the best deal they can find. It is very interesting why it was so different. What your friends describe is how I felt when it was fresh, but sadly it just isn't that beer anymore. I've had maybe 7-8 pours of it and it was different pretty much every time. I know less than nothing about brewing, so I won't speculate on why there is a difference.

I realize you don't like what I said and felt the need to defend Voodoo, but there's no need because I got nothin but love for Curt, Jake and the boys. I've been a loyal patron since day 1 and will continue to be. Some beers just don't hold up, unfortunately. That's just why I think it is getting a bad wrap lately and will reiterate again that is sucks people will review/rate that beer when it isn't what it once was. I'm just glad I drank most of mine at their peak, and it is still a top 5 beer all time for me.

Must be a highly limited issue or not believed by many though since mbp raffles went from a low of $500, back up to over $600 in the last few weeks. Going up in value isn't normally an indication of less demand/perceived problem with said beer. Who knows

You better be watching your back for the wolves or whalestreet or whatever they are called. Are you meaning to tell me to drink beer fresh and not leave it in a box in a closet?

What will it take for them to take you back?

I'll add.

Lol ok man, we get it. Everyone is in the minority but you and your boys. Before you start quoting secondary market values, give us a warning so we can take a deep breath under water first.

Do you work for Voodoo too?
