I got heartburn just reading this.
Being home gives me a vitality that I don't have in Pittsburgh. I normally would be keeled over in pain, but I'm up and ready to do it again. Heading over to Dark Matter Coffee in a bit (tommyguz ) and then off to my favorite bar (Local Option) for their pre-DLD party at noon.

Cuz I'm from Pottsville. Yuengling fo life
Ah, didn't know that. My step-dad's been a chaplain at Pottsville Hospital for the past 25+ years (we're from Reading). I used to be 100% about Yuengling, it's gotta be tied with Guinness for the beer I've drank the most of in my life. Awesome brewery tour, too.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to go to Chicago (though there was no moving my dates because of a conference). Dark Matter and pre-DLD party sounds yummy, and loooooved Local Option.

Vindaloo Hummus dudes. Vindaloo fartfuckin hummus and Waldo's and whiskey and a bunch of gherkins and apple slices. Feels like a 6 year olds bday party is going on in my stomach, the kids are wearing soccer cleats and running around with squirt guns filled with hot sauce.

I drank a Bullfrog Farmhouse Meyer Lemon something or other last night that i really enjoyed. I'm not familiar with the brewery really, do they bottle and can and do we see the stuff around here? Please don't make me do my own research.

That I'm aware, they bottle but don't can. Limited distro--when I've seen bottles in the 'burgh, think it was either grey market (Grrrz for $50 here, as opposed to $30 at the brewery, if recall serves correct) or beer fest. Have seen some of their stuff on draft more recently.

Limited distro...mostly kegs, right fellas?

For you South Hills guys, it looks like the Mt. Lebanon location of Caliente is finally opening tonight.

Saw that, but (not that it matters really) did they do anything to change the outside of the previous business (other than stick their name on the unbeautiful blue awning)? With their often...unsubtle social media presence, thought there'd be pics or updates of the opening--but haven't seen anything to date myself. Would like to check it out tonight, but crowds.

Yeah, I heard that they did nothing regarding remodeling and that it's the same layout of the Mt. Lebanon Pizza Pub or whatever is was beforehand. I haven't been inside that place probably since high school, but a friend sent me pics of the inside and it looked pretty nice.

You're right though. You would think there would be more of an announcement for tonight's opening. The only reason I even know they are opening is because a friend will be bartending there this evening.

But...but..but....don't you want their average food (minus the delicious pepperoni bread) and overpriced drafts?

I'll go for the Jalapeno bacon cheddar rolls, and stay for the #ambiance.

So Bullfrog is draft no bottles no cans right now, copy that, thank you gents.

Also had a Troegs beer last night, scratch something, Double blizzard i believe. Clean and crisp like a winter morning, it gets a thumbs up from this kid.

Hey preluderl , drop a Nelly Furtado gif for me brother

So, the word is Pig Iron has a great draft list but **** food? Why is it bad?

I would call it average food. Slightly different take on typical bar food if you ask me. Not terrible, but definitely not awesome.

Great taplist though for sure...

but what did you wake up with on your face?

(my new fave word is fartfuckin)

I'm in Chicago and got $71 worth of pizza last night. Can we talk about that?

Edit: in beer related news, I went to a BCBS event last night at Binnys. I still like Regal (whatever man) and BCBS Randalled with a metric **** ton of Thin Mints is awesome

The suspense is killin me, there's gotta be a story behind $71 worth of pizza.

I wasn't really serious about tacos, but now that I mentioned it, I tried Las Palmas in brookline for the first time earlier this week. Pretty damn good! I'll be back.
