Oh hey, this got bumped?

pinecone checking in.

Was going to use the glass, but pulled it out, took one look at it, and remembered why I never put beer glassware in the dishwasher.

Nice to have a backup Rothaus proper.

But for ***** sake, to let myself get down to one bottle. Damn.

Shelton is finally being master distributed to my state again after 5+ years. Really looking forward to my first Kulmbacher Pils. I hear good things

I've also heard good things about Kulmbacher Pils. I actually found some at a bottle shop not too far from where I live last weekend, but the bottles were quite dusty and I couldn't decipher the bottling date/best by date stamped on the bottle. Does anyone have any idea how Kulmbacher dates their bottles?

It is also worth mentioning that quite a few breweries in the US seem to be delving into the world of pilsner this year. Goose Island is releasing 4 Star Pilsner in bottles, which will begin shipping by the end of the month. I have heard mixed reviews on this one, but still look forward to trying it. Terrapin and Southern Tier have both tweeted recently that they will be releasing pilsners in cans sometime this Spring/Summer. I'm not saying that any of these will match up to the great pilsners brewed in Germany, but I am happy to see the style regaining popularity, and it will be nice to have more options.

Slyfox Pikeland Pils is one of the few beers I ever buy a case of. The cans are great for around the pool or summer activities. Stoudt's Pils is another sentimental favorite I need to revisit. A local brewery to me, All Saints, also makes a very nice pilsner. I also enjoyed a Kaiser Pils from Penn last week when I made a long overdue visit there.

Finally got to try some FRESH North Coast Scrimshaw that a local shop put on for growler fills. It is some seriously good stuff and is one of the closer pilsners I have had in the US to a traditional Northern German pils. I also see that Southern Tier has a new pilsner coming out soon, as does Heavy Seas. So great to see more and more options coming out, and hopefully there will be a few gems out of the lot!

Funny this comes up now; I've been trying to grab singles of pilsners lately whenever I see them to find a good one. I just keep going back to Pivo.

I have gotten major pilsner erections over the past year with my tops being from The Commons, Pfriem, and Occidental.

HOWEVER. I had a 2nd Shift Technical Ecstasy at a bottle share that almost made me cry. Does anyone know more about this beer? Is it bottled regularly? Do the brew it often?
I need to check this one out.

Will vouch for this, that was a standout in a stellar line up! Pretty amazing with it being a Czech Pils, normally they are middle of the pack with so many other bold beers!
