You should make a trip. I moved to Budweis last October. Being less than 2 hours from Prague and Plzen has been a ton of fun and there is so much great and cheap beer. Still need to do the brewery tour at the Budvar brewery here, but pilsner Urquell was definitely a lot of fun and a well done tour.phing, I now have that Urquel pic as my desktop background, lol. Jealous.
Bunker’s Machine, on the other hand, infinitely bang-able.

Soooooooooooooo our own Thorpe is opening a sister brewery for clean beers. ******* excited.
If it’s anything like his mixed ferm stuff ISOOOOOO
I don’t think it’s going to be anything like his mixed fermentation stuff. That’s the point.
Sorry. Couldn’t help myself.

The tour at Budvar is fantastic. Chodovar is also cool, they have a beer spa and a restaurant (beer pairing dinner). You should make a trip. I moved to Budweis last October. Unfiltered Urquell in Pilsen and a ton of tank Urquell and tmavé pivo in Prague. So fresh, cheap, and delicious.![]()

Yup. As of about a month ago.It comes in cans?!?!?
Yeah - 2-3 year job that I couldn't turn down. My better half is still back in the US so I'm back there for 3-4 months of the year and she has two extended work trips over here this year too. Works out surprisingly well.Wait, you moved abroad? Awesome man!
This is great to hear. I definitely need to make the time for it soon. I love the times when I'm walking back from work and the wind in blowing south, the whole town smells like spent grain or hops. I'll have to make the trip to Chodovar too while I'm here, trying to explore as much as I can while I have the opportunity. The tour at Budvar is fantastic. The smell is amazing, when our bus started pulling into Plzen we were instantly hit by it. Here are some pics that a friend took during our tours.Yeah - 2-3 year job that I couldn't turn down. No cardboard here. Not at home, but I believe these were dated 4/30.I've heard there are some oxidation issues with the first batch of cans. Did you get lucky and avoid that?

I think I like this better than Three Fates. Really bready but still crisp and easy drinking.
How difficult are HM pils cans to acquire?![]()

Lager cans are brewery-only and tend to last at least three weeks. How difficult are HM pils cans to acquire?
Are they at the brewery only or do they see distro? If brewery only do they last or is it gone that day?
Walked in completely blind. Knew Triple Crossing for their IPAs, but lagers? Had three on tap. All killer. Very impressed. Pathway Pils was not on, but I walked with a case anyway. Other three that impressive. Glad I did. Easily pils of the year for me midway through the year. Nice minerality, soft, fluffy body, crisp bitterness with enough floral notes to keep it interesting, and balanced, fresh baked bread malt backbone. Crazy good.

I find they could all use a little more carb, but everything else is on point.
F*ck if it aint still crushable and extremely tasty nevertheless. Already half way done with the glass I just cracked to ruminate on carb levels. And still holding a nice head in spite.
