Pilot light question

Just wanted to run this by you guys. I know the way I am doing this is not the recommended way to do a pilot light however this is what I have devised thus far. I have just finished my control panel and the last thing to do is setup my pilot lights. As you can see in the first pic that prior to my 2 pilots I have a valve to limit gas flow to the pilots. from there I have some gas line that eventually runs into a small hose barb. The hose barb is very small and I could use a larger one if it helped. I know this is a similar setup as the classic brutus 10 however I am curious as o the saftey of this. Is this a bad idea? Constructive criticism is welcome

The setup with the brass fitting is not the safest route, others have tried them and they are sensitive to drafts blowing them out. Better route is to use a honeywell Q314 pilot burner which mixes air with the propane for a more robust and dependable flame. You can drill and tap the burner itself to mount the pilot like I have with an electric ignited model in this picturehttps://picasaweb.google.com/110297595278760536729/PilotLights?noredirect=1#5157308893046577730. The honeywell Q314 pilot is 1/3 the size of that monstrosity, and much easier to mount and lite with a gas match.

the pilot ended up being one of the most difficult parts of my recent automated HLT build. I used the same pilot as Kladue. with high pressure propane and a needle valve it worked but not very reliable. with low pressure propane through a honeywell it works awesome. a little hard to get lit but it is rock solid all day. my build is here:

Well I just bought the Honeywell Q314A4586 Target Type Pilot Assembly off amazon. Might as well make it semi-legit.

If I limit the gas coming to the pilot with the valve in the pic I shouldnt need anything else right? Unless I put in a safety valve with a thermocouple(which I may do down the road. )
