Photos not working

Can't seem to get my photos to link to a new thread. I created a new folder and saved my photos. tried to copy using the insert image icon. Any help for a Dummy.

It's been a long time...but I think you need to have a certain amount of posts before you can attach pics. Maybe 10? And I've found it easiest to just use the 'manage attachments' icon.
