I got a vacuum sealer for my birthday last year and love it. I am not a big fan of wasting bags on hop storage once you open it up and go to reuse it you can't get a great seal with the extra bag material the sealer needs. (Operator error?) Doing 2oz packages it kind of a PITA.
So I grabbed a canning jar sealer and used the accessory port on my sealer. Packed up some hops and labeled it away in no time. I'm sure this isn't new, but I thought I'd share. It's super simple to open/reseal on brew day, just takes up a bit more freezer space. Also this would work well for yeast storage. I don't use leaf hops, so unsure how well this would fair for those.
Next up is get some larger canning jars, these are 8oz jars and I didn't weight it out, but guessing there is 5-6oz of hops by weight in a full one.
