Well I did it. I brewed my second batch of Pale Ale from Mr. Beer. The first batch I used the wrong sugar (powdered) during the bottle stage. I learned a lot from this mistake and used a corn syrup candy looking pre-measured sugar on the second batch. The second batch was fermented for 14 days and bottle conditioned for an additional 14 days in my closet. The beer and carbonation are near perfect. I do have some heavy sediment at the bottom. Can't wait to brew my third batch!

Sediment in the bottles is normal. How much depends on how much trub gets transferred and what yeast is used. The only way to eliminate that is to filter out all the yeast.

What kind of filter do you recommend. I was thinking of something like a coffee filter but thought it would effect the taste.
