When I first switched from partial mash to all grain I read some comments and purchased several packs of paint strainer bags to use for mashing, but upon doing further research I purchased a fine grand slam set of BIAB bags from Mr. Wilser, and I haven't looked back. His bags are awesome!

Today I bottled 5 gallons of my modified Raspberry Requiem, and I thought 'hmm, those paint strainer bags have been sitting around awhile'. I slipped the end of my racking cane into one, and shoved it into the carboy - it worked brilliant to keep the fruit and sludge out.

Many of you probably have been using them for some time for this, but I had been using the muslin 'sock' material like most partial grain kits come with. The paint strainer bag worked great and they are reusable.

I use a 1 gallon paint strainer bags over my auto siphon for dry hopped beers. Works great to keep the hop particles out which clog the dip tube.

I concur, Wilser bags are the cream of the crop!! I don't lift the bag directly, but I lift a strainer basket holding the bag. With this low bag stress method, I predict these grain bags will last years!

Good use of paint strainer bags. I'll try your suggestion...thanks!!
