Painter strainer bags
Many brewers are using paint strainer bags to strain the solids out of their worts. I cold brew coffee by putting coffee grounds in a jar and adding water then sit it overnight or longer. When I’m ready to drink it I put it through a regular paper coffee filter. Is there a better way to do this? Would the painter’s bag work here?

I've only made cold-brew coffee once (for a chocolate coffee porter), so take this for what it's worth...

In my research for the cold-brew methods, I've heard of people putting their coffee/water cold brew into a press, with the press left all the way at the top. Then, after it's sat in the fridge for the desired time they'll pull the coffee press out of the fridge, push the press down, and pour. The press will let some minor sediment through, but it should settle to the bottom of the cup. This way, you wouldn't pick up any off-flavor from the paper or anything.

Again, I haven't tried it, but it sounds like a good idea.

I haven't tried it but have read that nut milk bags work well for cold brewing. Off topic but, I used one for steeping specialty grains in my last brew and it worked well, plus it's reusable.

I scored an Ibrik this week. I'm going to use it today. I had a kafette at a local coffee house a couple weeks ago. It was amazing! Now I want to try them at home.
I got this one.

I think you would have to use a really course grind for the paint strainer bag to work. You would be much better off using one of the bags that filter the wort when transfering into the fermentation bucket, IMHO.

I use a french press to do my cold brew. It's leaves a bit of grit, but nothing I can't deal with. It's also super easy to clean.
