what could cause it to taste a little sour? when I tried it I was impatient and it only in the bottle 5 days.. could that be aging? or contamination... The sourness was very slight not undrinkable.. but it still needs more aging. could that be it?

Sour beer could be from a couple things.

1. not having a well balanced recipe.
2. bacteria (probably from your mouth). Did you start a siphon by mouth or try a little brew from a spoon or cup and then re-dip it?

If it's neither of these, I'd just give it a little time and see what some age does for it.
