I was working on my starter wort this evening, you know, warming up a pint of water and mixing in 1/2 cup of light DME. Well, let me tell ya, don't get the water too warm and try to pour DME into your Erlenmeyer flask.
I had DME sticking to the sides all over from the moist air inside. What a sticky mess and it only got worse as the stuff hardened like fricking epoxy.
Anyway, I said screw it and started over with fresh batch of water and another clean dry flask. No problems this time.
Now, faced with a sticky job to clean it, I simply put a teaspoon of Oxiclean Free in it and topped it off with warm water. 1 hour later, no trace of the DME Epoxy all over the inside of the neck of the flask.
Ahh, the learning never ends.
