what is the max time for fermentation i was supposed to bottle 2 weeks ago and i have been busy is it too late?? it was a ale (fat tire)

I think you are going to be okay. How long has the beer been in the fermenter? You've got to go a really long time before you've got a problem. Most people here will tell you three weeks is pretty close to a minimum and you can go a lot longer than that until autolysis is a problem.

I've let beers go longer than that, but don't let it just sit for months unless you are lagering.

I've heard from 2 brewers who left their brew in the primary for something like 8 months without a problem. Your extra 2 weeks just counts toward maturing the beer.
