I really enjoy out of bounds stout from Avery. They are gracious enough to post recipes for home brewers to many of their popular beers here - http://averybrewing.com/brewery/recipes-for-homebrewers/.

I would like to make their out of bounds stout as I love the taste but with a creamier mouth feel. Would tossing in a pound of flaked oats help me achieve this goal? Thanks for any input.

I put the recipe into brewgr, added oats, and got excited because i have most of the specailty grains on hand and a yet to be bottled beer with a us-05 yeast cake to pitch it on meaning this will only cost like $17. Unless somebody can convince me otherwise I am going with the following:

10lbs 2-row
1lb roasted barley
1lb flaked oats
.5 black malt
.5 carapils
.5 crystal 120
.25 wheat malt

1.25 bullion @ 60
.35 bullion @ 30
.4 bullion @ flameout

US-05 yeast cake from 1.042 rye ale

The LHBS opens in 12 hours and is only open three hours tomorrow so ANY input is appreciated. I would like to brew tomorrow. Thanks.
