Not sure where goat would fall, so I voted wild game since deer would be a close second for me.

Fish. Without question. The sheer variety means you will never get bored (this from someone who cooks fish for a living). Though if you don't dig on fish, thats moot.

Pork is a close second for the same reason. As far as cooking goes, it's the most versatile animal known to man.

I might have been more inclined to vote pork if it were old school pork. Stupid pigs today are too skinny.

Fish.

I'd flat out die without the fish.

In full disclosure though i gave up 4 legged animals just over 3 years ago after suffering the worlds nastiest case of food poisoning from a pork sausage.
them ones with the missing legs are easier to hunt anyways

You can just as easily get food poisoning from fish, I'm not following your logic.

its probably not logic. just that he can't stand to eat it anymore. i couldn't eat hotdogs for years after i got really sick one night. i don't even think it was because of the hot dogs, but anytime i even looked at one my stomach hurt for like 4 years

I voted beef, but I could just have easily have voted pork. I eat mostly chicken at home, for health reasons - but a big juicy ribeye is one of my favorite things in life

BEEF! Its been about a month since my last steak. I am seriously getting DT's. All the other options are good but somehow, they just can't replace a good rare steak.

I love bacon but...if I could only eat one I would have to choose beef, I would never survive without a nice thick juicy steak on the grill. i would have to make some beef bacon thats all!:mug:

Chose turkey/chicken out of the simple fact that you can't screw up cooking a turkey/chicken without being somewhat mentally incapacitated, but I'm partial to any of the following:

-Antelope
-Venison
-Duck
-Kangaroo (especially nice as a jerky)
-Crocodile (see above)
-And yes, even rattlesnake

I have an issue.. I love Sushi, fresh fish is like nothing else in my book. Yet I love (and make) a really good tri tip, and then I start thinking about Menudo, which is made from pork parts... AH so maybe I can live in a reality were just those 3 exist? lol I couldn't give up Pork Ribs, bacon, tri tip, rib eye, chicken wings, menudo, sushi, shark steak, swordfish, Cornish Game Hen, Hamburgers, leg-rack-roast lamb, elk, venison, boar, rabbit, sausage rolls, italian spicy ragu, shell fish (cockles, mussels, clams, lobster, crabs) wow to many meats I enjoy.

In the end I chose Beef purely because of Hamburgers, Tri Tip, Ragu, Roast Beef, Roasts, and Beef Jerky.

You've obviously never eaten at my in-laws place... My mother in-law is a very intelligent lady, but damn that turkey is dry as hell. I've been honing my bird smoking skills to take over turkey cooking duties for this year. Only trick is that I need to make it sound like I just want to help out rather than I think her turkey sucks.

Pork, Anthony Bourdain was right; "The pig is a noble animal"

Apart from the fact that I love it anyway, if there was going to be a ONE meat forever and always, it would make sense to be pork since it has the greatest variation in flavor and texture. Ham (can be cured MANY different ways), bacon, pork loin, chops, sausages, ground, etc.

Brine the bird for 24 hours first and it will change her life. :cross:

I love me some good steak, but I don't think I can live with beef and only beef for the rest of my life.

I agree. Poultry is a lot more versatile than other meats. The novelty of eating pork every day would eventually wear off. It might take three or four years, but eventually. Chicken's boring by itself, but you can basically do anything with it except make a steak or bacon.
Pork is just as versatile.

Had to go with pork. I was thinking about bacon, ham, pork chops, sausage, canitas, etc. Can't go wrong with pig!
Thanks. Now I know what I'm gonna have for lunch. :mug:

*edit*
geez, I didn't realize how old this thread was. I'm still having carnitas for lunch though.
