I am watching the previews for District 9 and saw a preview for Universal Soldiers: Regeneration. First, it looked awful. Second, it went straight to video. Then I saw the stars.

Please keeo in mind that this movie was released this year.

The two main stars???

Dolph Lundgren
Jean-Claude Van Damme

Both were bad asses in their days but their days was in the late 80s early 90s.

I am seriously hoping the Jean and Dolph pooled their money to make this movie because I have to believe that any rational person would never spend a dime to develop a movie starring these two.

I'll bet that if you tried to turn that movie into some kind of drinking game where you drank an entire beer for every good scene, you would be sober by the time the movie was over.

This was the last movie I saw before deploying to and I was so mad i made them give me my money back, I was 4 hours from flying out. Worst movie I have sat through.

Have you guys watched JCVD? Thats not a bad movie at all - not your typical Jean-Claude movie because it stars him as the washed up actor in a robbery gone bad.

^^ Damme that looks like a good movie! After reading the reviews I think it would be worth watching, even if it's not like his previous work. (or perhaps because it's not like his previous work!)

I saw Universal Soldier when it came out. That was at the tail end of the big action movie fad. It wasn't a good movie even for the genre but having Dolph and Van Damme in it was a big draw at the time. I'm surprised they're still churning out sequels. But I'm not terribly surprised they can afford the original stars.
