Okay, not a newbie to AG brewing, but have never used Maris Otter before. I have this ale fermenting with some Nottingham at about 66-68F and it has been looking and smelling great. In the past though the krausen has sunk back into the beer and the top has been clear except for some CO2 bubbles (in like 2-3 days)... I am at day 6 in the primary and the krausen has subsided but the GOOEY GUNK is still floating on top... never had this happen before....
Is this sometimes normal? I am not worried, it is beer and it does what it does and I just watch, just curious about your experiences with the GUNK that wont DUNK.
Next week it is getting infused with some pasteurized raspberries!!!!!
