I just bottled my first batch. An Irish Red. Great color, tasted pretty good. I made my primer with white sugar and a pint of water. I boiled for 5 minutes as recipe called for. After bottling, I realized that I was using a 1/3 cup measure instead of a 1/4 cup measure. In short, I used 1 cup of white sugar in one pint of water as my primer instead of 3/4 cup. Will my bottles explode? How badly did I mess this one up???

Probably won't be enough to make them kersplode, but you'll be a bit more carbonated than you planned. Not a big deal.

Do yourself a favor and invest in a small kitchen scale and measure your sugar by weight instead of volume. 3/4 cup of sugar isn't always the same each time depending on how packed the sugar gets in the cup. Weight is always accurate.

Probably not the end of the world just chill very well (like in a bucket with ice and water)before opening. That should curtail a little foam.

Drink them quickly. I don't mean chug 'em - I mean don't let them hang around on your closet shelf. My early brews tended to be over-carbed, until I followed Cheshre Cat's advice and started weighing. By the time I was down to the last 6'er, they were all gushers.
