If anybody in the area is heading up this weekend I'm still ISO proxy to pick up my 3 bottles of Rum Buckley. Can provide thank you beer, thank you meats, and/or thank you coffee beans. Giving this one last shot, and if not then I'll just happily donate my $3.

I think I am heading up on Sunday and can help you out! I can confirm tomorrow, but I am 99% sure we'll be going.

At the release a couple weeks ago, I overhead Chris mention that Illinois distro would be happening soon. Apparently, that starts today:

Hoping he is able to send more to other stores as well.... Love the Beer Cellar but I cant consistently make the drive out there
Nw burbs pls!

Maybe wishful thinking because I haven't heard much about it, but maybe this drop was timed with the delivery of Neckbeard Nectar? Release is in a few weeks and I can't imagine Chris likes driving to Chicago all that often to drop off beers.

SecretSquirrel. Ive been saying for a long time that he should add another store... doesnt make sense to drop beers off at capones and beer temple when theyre so close in proximity. (not sure if they still deliver to capones) Could easily drop one of those places.

I know plenty of people who were members from the start and live in the nw burbs who would appreciate a closer option...

Dont think thats a crazy concept but I doubt its going to change. I have never gotten the chance to try his cans...

funny the membership started when he was at One Trick Pony in Lansing which one of the major reasons I decided to give him my money as it was south and the natural progression to SW Michigan (an area I’ve gone my whole life) was perfect.

We will likely add a new spot or two in the next couple weeks as well as more draft options. Of course we take stock in all your feedback and opinions, so if you have a place you'd like to see us, we would certainly consider them.

As for Beer Temple and Capones, the former is our default home in Chicago, and the latter was one of our earliest supporters. We know they are right down the street from one another, and strategically that doesn't make sense, but we value their support and loyalty so you won't see us dropping either any time soon.

Within the next month or so we will also be reintroducing ourselves through a couple events here and there, so keep an eye out!

In the meantime, get out and snag up that Crunchable. I'm really diggin' it.

I would love a NW 'burbs option as well, but where? Before it sold, Prestige would have been a decent spot, but certainly not anymore. Outside of the multitude of Binny's, I don't know of an obvious craft oriented store that would make sense.

Then again, I've only lived out here for two years, so maybe I just don't know the area very well.

Actually, nevermind. Beer on the Wall in Park Ridge would work well. They have a tap area and it's right off the Metra - forgot about that one since they've only been open about a year.

You arent wrong, not an obvious choice like there is in Chicago, but there are a few small spots that would make sense

Jims in Mundelein or DiCarlos
One of the Garfields, either Palatine or Crystal Lake

Theres a newish place in libertyville, The Craft Beer Store

Consume in Lake Zurich. Small shop and bar next door, might be a perfect choice. They are doing great things with their space.

Mr A's in palatine, lol

These are just off tbe top of my head, but would find more later. Hard to compare places to The Beer Cellar and The Beer Temple tho, they are a step above the competition and are able to offer a much better experience.

Havent been there yet, need to check it out.

Transient thanks for listening. I will continue to support you guys no matter what you decide to do. The amount of styles you are able to crush is not equaled by many breweries, rare air in that regard.... and I hope my post didnt come off as contrived bs, or overly critical. Cheers!

Fair warning, I have no idea what this beer tasted like "fresh" or on draft. All I can say is that four of us tonight watching the Ric Flair 30 for 30 thought it was wild ale perfection. The smell is limeade. The carb was beautiful. The flavor is like you had the best lemon shake up mixed with lambic. I'm almost glad I only had a bottle because I can't imagine it being better. Treebs is lucky I'm not a ******** as I'm still keeping his bottle safe in my basement. Beautiful beer.

Secondeded. Crunchable was my favorite of the 3 I took down last night.

I also second Beer on the Wall for a good NW store option, but Park Ridge might not be far enough NW for some. Fischman's is about to reopen too. (even less NW.)

Another "NW Burbs" option is Beer Bazaar in Hainesville, although that's a little further out there than I think most would like, myself included. I like the idea of Consume in Lake Zurich as I've known a few of those guys for a while and they do a lot of good stuff for the craft community. That place is getting the reputation of having the better/harder to find stuff on hand most of the time. Plus I drive right past it on my commute... ;)

Liked Ardent with Grape plenty.

Loved this year's barrel aged iteration of Neckbeard.

Quality event on Friday at Beer Cellar.. was able to stop in around 5 PM on Friday, try some drafts, pick up bottles, buy some extras without any problem (lively but not crowded)

Saturday was a steady flow of people in Bridgman never overly crowded, and the treats they had from the place in Saint Joe were excellent

For anyone wondering about Neckbeard Nectar, both the regular and barrel aged are on draft at The Beer Cellar and plenty of bottles of both available (As well as Rum Jumbie Buckley). Good way to try it on draft before committing to buy bottles if you are on the fence.

The regular has a good amount of vanilla but you still get the roasty stout character, I really enjoyed it. The barrel aged is also quite good, the barrel dominates but it is quite smooth.

Picked up a 4 pack of Happy Little Trees last weekend on my way home from my parents' for Thanksgiving and finally got a chance to crack one last night. Loved it. While I'm a fan of all the juicy hazebro canwhalez, I really loved the balance of that mouthfeel and some juicy-ness with the more resin-y 'old school' hops. Pretty damn good for a faded-ass month old DIPA.

Wow, not many actual words in that 'review.'
