Wouldn't take very much effort to track down the dude on CCBE that posted the last IL allocation of bottles for sale at $25/bottle under the guise of a "cellar" sale. Cellar just got crazy over the last couple months apparently. Also appears to be 67% appreciation on those bottles in that same amount of time. Pretty bold strategy to just throw all that up for sale above cost with your name on it.

Someone should tag Transient in the comments.

I dont think Transient is a member of CCBE.

Would have to make a facebook account, or log onto someone's personal account with the intent purpose of spying on facebook group activity - doesnt seem like something a small craft brewery should be devoting their time or energy on, when it probably wont fix anything.
Its like I said tho, if you condone selling you need to condone trading.
Otherwise people will just trade before selling
Pretty easy to get around if you want to.

Also cant send any of your beers to your regular trading buddies, even if you just want to share something good. Must drink every ounce of liquid in your membership. How do we know that you didnt sell a beer that your trading buddy sent you becasue he really liked the b1 Kentuckley you sent him.

You don't really have to do any of that. You could just lay down a rule saying if the membership beers are found to be sold on secondary or whatever, specifically for money, and it's discovered, then you can lose your membership.

Personally, if something I created was sold for 10x what I sold it for, I'd be pretty ******* pissed off. Especially if there was record of it.

Trading isn't much different, but at least it's goods for goods instead of goods for money. Lots of breweries have been known to trade their own stuff for secondary values, so it seems there's a difference to some. I just find it ****** to sell someone else's hard work for profit. If you have a different opinion, that's perfectly fine.

Well Betts is in fact a member of CCBE on FB. So if he did in fact care it's right there in his crosshairs.

Ewww, why is he in there? That place is a cess pool.

When the beers are ready!
This is the beer exchange page not the "enthusiasts" page. Not saying it's a great place at all but I wouldn't call it a cesspool. There are certainly a fair share of homies trying to call for-profit beer sales a "cellar cleaning" though.

PHBoiler that was me. It was an error in calculating cost. Rest assured that I went back, checked my invoice, and sold them at cost. You can go look at the edited post. I just don't currently have the room to store a bunch of beer. Cheers!

Secondary on this sucked, so I enjoyed the **** out of it. :)

This tasted great when it reached room temp where the blueberry had more of a chance to shine. Also it paired oddly well with my ribeye.

Checked out Transient on the way back from metro Detroit on Sunday, and wasn't disappointed.

They had just kicked the Fudge sweet stout as we were grabbing beers, but still lots of great options on draft and in bottles. The Czech Yourself was crazily unexpectedly good, and if Chris starts adding German lagers to his repertoire on a regular basis I'll be up here that much more often than I already am. The Mutual Aberration was clean and light with enough funky Brett character to keep it interesting and just a light hint of acidity. The Foeder #2 cranberry poured a beautiful color and was delicious as well.

Looking forward to see what they bring to Funk Factory on Friday for levifunk's event and at Great Taste on Saturday.

I really dig that one, I think the wild rice adds a nice addition to the base funky saison.

He said on the ABV Chicago podcast that once the building expansion out back is done he'll have space to dedicate 1 tank for lager.

Opened my first Anachronism and it might be my favorite Transient beer to date... really impressed with this one. Enough to never think about renewing again. Pentameter B1, Oak Aged Galaxy level.... <3
yep it’s good, had one fresh and again not long ago only getting better...

Pentameter B1, B2 and B2 wick Cherries.

Cherries still isn't that great. Some off diaper/burnt rubber flavors. B1 is delicious. Slightly tart, super fruity bordering on cider level. B2 is a little more sour. Both B1 and B2 are super dry. Great little treat.

I actually never had the particular one that they are selling.. and it kinda sounds awful based on the flavor profile. Am I off base?

it was on tap at Buckley days one of the smaller taps think it was the portable kegerator he had some things pouring from.

I thought it was ok I didn’t have much as I was helping out, not horrible by any means but it was very popular that day from what I recall.

If there is anyone out in the Geneva/St.Charles area heading up to Transient and doesn't mind grabbing my allotment... That would be great. And if you could not make the Coffee Eugene release, I have a 6'er with your name on it or other thank you beers for your efforts...
I can add thank you Ream's meats to this offer to make it a Geneva area two'fer if anybody would like to oblige.
