i stand by my quote, because there is still a strong overlap between chicago members and michigan members, and chicagoans can be ******.
I agree the Chicago aspect of it but a lot of those people had been IL members and had a pretty good idea what they were getting into. As someone who goes often there's a pretty good group from the GR and surrounding areas that's always down there just jumping at the bit for cans etc...

Big fan of the changes. Mainly the higher allotments. That's the only thing I wanted as a member, the ease of access to more Transient beer. I could care less about exclusivity.
And why would anyone complain about low prices?!? SMDH.

I'd happily alpaca for C&S whenever I head up there. I kinda do the same thing for Ryan_G since the memberships are geared more towards locals now. I just hold onto bottles until I have a shippers worth.

DUDE, this would be awesome! I'm super down!

So I assume if you didn't want to risk your life this weekend to go to MI you are SOL on free beers and growlers? Pretty ****** if that's the case!
I don't care that the member beers aren't more expensive, but I do feel a bit screwed over if I'm basically getting $50-$60 of beer for my $125

Then don't re-up! Or request a higher membership fee to help them fund a weather-controlling machine!

Risk your life? I drove to Chicago and back this weekend with no issues in our ****** work van, and the weather held out for the most part. I can't control what driving conditions will be when I set a day like this. And again, your response is exactly why we are changing the membership.

First of all, you received 76 dollars in beer/merchandise and then a 10% discount on all drafts and to go. Just across the street it's 60 dollars a year for only 10% off draft and a dollar off growler fills. Right down the road it's $50 for the same. That is standard in Michigan, and when our sales break down to 4/1 when it comes to to-go/draft, our membership gives you MUCH more value than both of those, as bottles seems to be what members wanted from us. The free draft/growler day was a bonus.

Seriously, you don't need to come on here and justify. Everyone knows this is the cost of business with beer right now, and I- and I know many here as well- am extremely happy with both memberships and the benefits of both. Hell, I'd keep paying the Michigan dues just as payback for the Illinois parties. I'd pay it just because Cherry Foeder #2 is as good of a American-made wild ale as you'll ever ******* drink.

Thank you, man. Thank you.

yep I made the trip on Sat from the Chicago area...

Again as many have said if the membership isn't a value to you move along...

I just dont have any free time coming up. Not really worried about anything tho, super happy about the memberships and the beer <3 been worth every penny for me.

my memeber comment wasn't directed at you but to those who didn't feel they got a good value for there money.

So is there no such thing as a membership? I wish they sent some kegs to the tri-city area! Lots of good options around here , wink wink...

There are in fact 2 memberships. An Illinois and a Michigan membership. The structure of the Michigan membership is changing, apparently some people were not happy because the beers included in the membership weren't exclusive enough (or expensive enough, wft?) for them. I guess they were supposed to make beer for the membership and then dump the remainder down the drain?

so i was originally going to go up tomorrow, but unfortunately it doesn't look like i'll be able to. if someone would be willing to bring me back a can of each (really just want to try the beer!) it would be much appreciated. if not, i'll get it next time.
