Also a mini wooden carrying case for each size bottle would be great too

I had Whiskey Presque on bottle and on tap at the event. Preferred wine barrel actually. Wild Turkey Betise is my favorite thus far. I got more flavors and more barrel than the Whiskey Presque. It's great once it warms and becomes more tart.

Had the Wine Presque last night and thought the acidity was overwhelming. It was difficult to drink. Switched over to Red Wine Obelus, which is doing quite well. Red wine, light spice and oak, and a bit of acidity. Creamy yet dry finish. Had no problem polishing off that bottle.

drank a wine presque last night as well. definitely on the acidic side but i didn't think it was totally out of whack for a flanders red. was tasty too. had little trouble splitting a bottle with a friend.

You've been on talk beer for 2 months now. In that two months you have posted 41 times. In those 41 post you have incurred 1 like.

It's simple mathematics. You've been on talk beer for 2 months now. In that two months you have posted 41 times. In those 41 post you have incurred 1 like. That makes me think that nobody cares what you had.

Well, my +1 decided to flake on me, so it looks like I'll be riding solo.

Unless someone need a Transient buddy... ;)

I will be the guy with a beard and some brewery shirt or another -- looking forward to meeting a bunch of you!

OK, and a maroon zip hoodie and black jeans. I know a few of you but come say what's up if you want.

So, here is what I gathered from the release.

Buckley is spectacular. The best stout I have had in recent memory.
Presque Wine was really nice.
Everything went pretty smoothly.
It wasn't too crowded (at least for the first hour)
The t-shirts suck... I mean c'mon, give a man a beeeeefy tee, none of this tissue paper bull ****.
Pleasant house pies were the highlight of the day...

Liked for Pleasant House shout-out. Those pies are magic.

Got here about 1, missed Buckley AND pies :(

Seems crazier than the previous releases, but lines are moving quickly and lots of good stuff on tap.

Edit: hanging out at the table by the draft line with my brother and friend, if anyone wants to say hello!

my thoughts:

- new glasses are unique, and they do seem well made. i dunno if i'm going to be using them as often as the snifters, but i can definitely say i don't have a glass anything like the ones we received today.
- draft line was way longer than last time and it stayed that way unlike when it tapered off last time after not too long. i don't *think* this was caused by too many guests or anything, but there were clearly more people there than either of the first two releases. it wasn't to the point of 'problem' but i can imagine that if people went nuts with guests or the society expanded much more than it is, it could be in the future.
- pleasant house pies are always bangin' but it's pretty awkward eating a pie out of a bag. would have preferred to have a plate available.
- buckley was nice but i would prefer that the bitterness were a bit tamer. i hope this is sitting in barrels, because BA buckley would probably be a pretty good approximation of what BA expedition would be (as i've never had it before).
- the farmhouse mild (can't remember the name) was nice. english mild grain profile mixed with elements of saison and english yeasts made for a nice juxtaposition that i crushed pretty easily.
- cuvier was the day's highlight. the bottle i had a while back was great but this was even better.

didn't stick around long enough for the lifted bottle limits or the (upcoming) growler fills so no comments there.

edit: oh yeah, spiced henry. didn't taste anything like what you'd expect based on the ingredient list, rather it was actually quite fruity and, despite being a similar adjunct set to a number of other beers around, tasted quite unique. a nice surprise.

Spiced Henry was definitely unique. It was far more tropical than you'd ever expect from the description.

Everything tinypyramids said is spot on. ISO Cuvier, in case anyone has an extra bottle. And BA'd Buckley is something I'd be very excited for.

Glad I got there early and tried Buckley. Only made it for the first hour before the long trek back. Buckley is so thick and rich. Tons of coffee/rich chocolate and a hint of maple. Outstanding beer. Bottle share was close quarters but I got there at like 10:50. I tried to mingle a bit by plowing through and pouring some OEC. If I poured some for you, that's me. We should get TalkBeer name tags for events. Kept up my quota of meeting 1 new person. Rizdac is a good dude to talk beer with and quite the generous trader. Talked to some folks down near Lansing that we really nice people too. Many 3 Floyds stories from the old days. Quite a lot of swag. Have to agree that the shirt didn't do much for me but my wife loves them for baggy night shirts. Glasses are really cool. Opener is sweet. Water bottle was a nice bonus. Extra bottle sales were nice to grab 2 beers I haven't had. It was in a tough spot. The lines looked rough as I was leaving. Those puncheons are massive. Interested to find out what's inside.

More bathrooms for next time would be GREATLY appreciated. Maybe a Porta potty or 2 outside? Bathroom line took FOREVER!

I will agree with most of what people said here. Beers were tasty, pies were awesome. I had Henry and the RW Presque. At 11:00 there were about 5 people in line as all the early arriving-bottle share suckers were still enjoying their brews. My tiny complaint, and its a bit of jealousy at you first rounders who got those boss bottle carriers, is that the stamp for my bottle opener seemed to be taller than the opener itself. The "ARTISAN ALES" is cut-off/indecipherable. Not really bugged, it was just odd.

Happy to get to meet up with adschus Rizdac and mychalg9 for some quick trades. All good people. Now I can try some of those round 1 goodies. I don't know if I saw any maroon hoodies but i definitely saw some zubaz. And some fairly short shorts. Fun times.

Maybe it's just bad luck, but the glasses I have are chipped and have bubbles making them unusable. They'll be going straight to the recycle bin, unfortunately. Probably my own fault since I didn't really check for defects before I packed everything up.

This was my first release. I arrived around 12 and it was pretty crowded for my taste. Lines were long and didn't seem to be moving much. I took a bit of a self-guided tour, checked out the rest of the products, and left because it was hard for me to maneuver with the crowd.

All in all, not bad... And I've certainly been to worse. Hopefully the next release is a bit less crowded, but I'm not holding my breath. Popularity breeds crowds, so it's good for Chris.

-missed out on Buckley by about a dozen people. Hope we'll see this in bottles soon cuz it sounds awesome.
-Cuvier definitely was better on draft than the bottle I had in early Jan. I gave my other one to elkhunter36 so I hope it's tasting like the draft version now.
-Wayward was ******* great as usual.
-One of the highlights for me was that damn cherry soda. Only knew about it thanks to Dunt. Tasted great blended in with Salarium and Maigre.
Was hoping to see one of the Sporadic's on tap but we headed out around 3. Otherwise, a smooth event besides the consistently long tap and bathroom line. Was great to finally meet and shoot the **** with Dunt Treebs and Rizdac. Looking forward to what's in store for the next one.
