One of the guys in our tasting group needed to clear some room in his cellar. My headache is finally gone.

Highlights were the 2014 CCBBomb, Strawberry Latache, & Dark Harvest. I'd never heard of Snugglebug, but it was a really nice surprise, Clark.

A&G was the unanimous favorite. Biggest surprise was how bad the 2 year old 3F OG bottle was. Definitely off. Cantillon and Tilquin gueuze fared well. Squared was polarizing.

What was the bottle date of the 3F OG? I also did a blind gueuze tasting a while back that included a bottle dated 03/14/2015 that did not fare great. After the tasting, I tried more of it and it just did not remind me of what I expected from a 3F OG. Also, anecdotally I feel like I've seen this bottling date mentioned a few times as being sub-par. I have a few more that I plan to hold onto for a while and hope for better things, so was just curious if your experience was with the same bottling date.

Cheers to blind gueuze tastings.

That's the same date. Must be an off bottling. It scored significantly lower than all the other bottles in the tasting. I would definitely wait on your remaining bottles. It's not in a good place right now.

I had a couple 750s from that batch that were pretty much still also... must have been a rough day at the lambic factory

Friend's bday celebration. We opened quite a few bottles last night in addition to these.

For me, hazelnut > cinnamon/coffee > vanilla > chilies > coconut. Having said that, they were all good, though we thought the coconut was a bit thinner than the others.

Other faves from the night were all local(ish): Suarez 100 Ft North, Plan Bee Amour, and LIC Breathe. Florence OT was really nice too... never had a draft pour of it before. Just superb; she's still one of my favorite Hills.

Had some friends over for a small share

Kane ANTEAD was really great stuff! ISO! Thanks Frank !
The two De garde with fruit was very sour/tart/acidic but good nonetheless! Éponyme and CD16 was great and much appreciated by everyone. (thanks kbhess for the deGardes )

Some other random stuff, the wine went in to the food.

Spending some quality time with SocalKicks, angry_lobster, ZackB, phantastiic, and a couple others not on TB before the RateBeer Best.

Dead cat beer is good but still enjoyed Art a bit more (fuller bodied, wonderful soft finish).

Maple beer showdown. KBBBBBBSSSSS is fantastic, maple and chocolate on the nose, sweetness on the front cut by the coffee and dark chocolate notes in the finish. As it warms up, the maple comes through nicely as well. The Maple Bourbon MC is awesome as well, nose has maple and spices while the taste is a nice blend of maple, cinnamon, coconut (unexpected), and barrel character. It's a bit sweet overall but delicious. I will never understand the hype for MBP (and Voodoo overall). Straight smoke when first opened, it improved as it warmed, but nothing special.

GoM horizontal with proper coffee. All very good stouts, the regular GoM is a bit sweeter than the coffee variants. The coffee variants are very good but the coffee profile is a bit restrained in both. Admittedly a little disappointed in them given the hype. The Akmel Nuri beans are awesome though.

We drank a few other beers along with some bourbon.
