Official The Abyss vertical and variant tasting. 12' - 16' plus 4 variants. Scotch and Rye whiskey were my personal favorites. 4 of us took these down last night, Bud Light Lime Express and tennispl were 2 of the other 3.

Pretty much went unnoticed in this lineup which is a shame cause it did show nice lemon aroma with a long dry finish. Would be a great sunny afternoon beer

Had a fun party at my house on Saturday. Opened up a bunch of interesting things.

Highlights included: HF Genealogy of Morals - Kieni (rich barrel, thick mouthfeel, chocolaty coffee flavor), Barrel Aged Big Hugs (Not a huge barrel presence but a nice compliment to the coffee. My favorite of the 3 Big Hugs variant bottles), '14 Props (still holding up about the same, lots of cinnamon), 1987 JW Lees (dark brown sugar, maple, a non oppressive amount of oxidation for a 30 year old beer that was mostly in the aroma), '08 C&C La Folie, Bokkereyder Ghost Lambic (thanks SwedishJesus) , Raspberry Wild One (this bottle was from 07/16 and was way less vinegary than the last few times I've had this on draft), Screamin Dill Pickle Pringles (my favorite of the 20 or so crisp variants I've tried).

Lowlights included: '09 Dark Lord (it was always kind of a ****** year, but it was better the last time I had it a few years ago), '09 DFH World Wide Stout (I've never really liked this beer so I guess I'm not surprised), Harpoon Triticus (It was brought as a gag since it was made in collab with the Alstrom douches), Batch 1 PW Bleu Cheese Lady (SecretSquirrel still had 3 bottles of this for some unknown reason so we opened one up to see if it got any more disgusting. Not worse, but still bleu cheese vomit all day), Grape A Rita (Dimeatapp clone), Pizza Pringles (basically the same artificial flavors as Pizza Combos which also suck)

We had a Stone tasting. It's Stone, so I won't bother to post pics of the bottles. The party got really good when we had a carcass to deal with.

Attended a small share for a friend's birthday. Opened these and more. Good to see some of my favorite people, including jammery.

Thanks again, jupiter6xx, for the Money Blend. It was delicious and well-received by all.

First Schramm's mead, surprised how ****** it was. No one liked it, and we ended up DPing it. It's like they added sweet honey post fermentation. Any of Berkeley's Mead Kitchen is superior to that. Butthurt was real on it especially for the price.

Ginger in itself has a very powerful flavor. If you go into that expecting it to taste like a sweet ginger ale or something, then you are in for a bad time. I wasn't a huge fan of the ginger either, i thought it was too spicy for my palate, but don't let that one convince you on all of schramms. Try the raspberry, or the statement if you can. They are awesome.
