Got to try it on tap at the brewery the other day. We just moved here so it's my first time trying their stouts and, uhh, wow. Had to change my pants halfway through. Incredibly good.Opened up coconut Midnight Still last night. Straight fire. Base beer had so much barrel. Coconut was tsstefully done as well. Zero complaints
Guess I have Friday lunch plans now.Tomorrow (FRIDAY 9/8) at 12noon, we'll be releasing cans of Second Death and Spirit Crusher.
SECOND DEATH is a Helles Style Lager brewed with 100% German Pilsner malt, lightly hopped with German Tettnang, and fermented with our favorite lager yeast. 4.8% ABV, $18/4-pack, limit 3 x 4-packs per person
SPIRIT CRUSHER is a juicy and aromatic Double IPA brewed with malted and unmalted oats, pilsner malt, and two row. Hopped with insane amounts of Simcoe, Centennial, Citra, and Mosaic. 8.5% ABV, $22/4-pack, limit 2 x 4-packs per person
Kegs of Second Death and Spirit Crusher will be on tap as well when we open at 12noon.
Though this release is on a Friday, the setup will be the same as our regular Saturday releases, with can sales available through the alley (West) entrance of the brewery. Bottles of Witchfinder as well as Spirit Crusher t-shirts will also be available in the can line.
Please NO DRINKING in line or anywhere outside of our building and please no line cutting. We also ask that everyone be mindful of any "No Parking" signs in neighboring lots as your vehicles can be towed if parked in clearly marked spaces reserved for another business.
As always, thanks for your support and we hope to see you Friday!
Hey, if you just got the Helles, it'd be $36...$40 for 8 cans. Wow.
$40 for 8 cans. Wow.
here in hardmore.. tired cans sets you back 48 if it's a shake for 8 cans... such is the way of it for the so called top tier craft canners...
#canculture
$18 for that Helles is blowing my mind. And I thought I've seen it all
~$24.xx with tax. $6 a pint.
I could've got two six packs of Latona Crush for that much. Damn.
So where do we stop? Are we approaching $30 four packs of tallboy cans of IPA with pretty artwork stickers?
Debating whether I try to get some or just not bother. It will probably be on tap for quite a while.
yeah i think for some of the spots in major areas... NYC/Philly/LA/Seattle etc.. the hopped up double/triples and whatever lactose/coconut oils/fruits/other additives will push up a bit... $25 i think was the most expensive tired hands 4 pk but there has been discussion that if they were to say can the Triple IPA Watermelon shake that they put on tap at their cafe that they most likely would have done so at near $30 for the 4 pk. They know it'll sell at that so until they don't have faith something will sell at a price point they'll keep pushing the $'s up. They are in the business of making money after all.. sure is it ethically sound to squeeze your patrons for every last possible cent.. where does the relationship start to sour or people get fed up... i don't have answers to these things...
i do know before cans were big and i visited tired hands if i got a 32oz fill of an ipa or dipa it would be like $12... i think $20 ish for a 64oz fill... now i can get 4 16oz vessels that are a bit more sturdy and retain the freshness a bit better and allows me to consume them 1 at a time 4 times versus having to consume said 32/64 oz's in a sitting or quickly so the beer didn't start to drop off.. so i was already used to paying $5/6 per 16oz serving takeaway and i still am paying that, albeit a different container. Benefits me and it benefits the brewery.
I do think people get caught up in believing that the price of a 4 pk should be less because well i can go to the store and get a 4 pk too.. the whole it's not a growler it's a can perception when really all these breweries did is put the beer in 16oz metallic growlers if you will
I know when Tired Hands opened the Ferm I paid $30 for a 64oz fill of Coffee Cherry Only VOid.. sure i was able to sample the beer before i bought it and knew that I ******* loved it so though the price was very high i was willing to pay it... often with new cans the beer hasn't been on tap before so you can't say for certain how good it'll be, you are kind of buying on reputation of the brewery and whatever style the beer is they canned.... like Gregkoko mentioned Helles.. you can buy plenty of that style in stores so paying 16/18 for a 4 pk of those is a stretch, but the fresh dipa's that these breweries create, you really are hard pressed to find such an option in a store.. so the breweries are still winning on that style/front of the market, and will continue to as that style is one where the fresher the better.... Stone did we'll with the enjoy by series when that first hit because it was the first time that a wide distro beer/ipa cared so much about the freshness... kind of shocked they haven't dipped into the NE haze craze and done a really well done NE Enjoy By... it would be easy, they have the model/distro to crush it to
who knows where things will go.. always interesting to see trends appear/disappear/fade off in the beer world.. Seems there is a push back to pills and helles etc... Suarez is doing great things right now and I know a lot of the other "it" crowd breweres are all brewing the style more and more... it's the beer drinkers drinking beer
i completely agree with people thinking a 4pk should be sold at super market pricing. 5.50 for a pint of super fresh IPA, and 4.50 for a pint of super fresh Helles using the best German malt we can get, that is naturally conditioned and was lagered for almost 6 weeks. Agreed Saurez is doing awesome stuff. We're about to hit our three year mark of production next week, but brewing lager was always in the plans, and we brewed one within a couple of months after getting started. It's a labor of love, and being able to properly can these is a dream and goal I've had for years, and we're working on being able to make more. I feel we do it correctly and give it the time it needs. Our lagers are completely babied by everyone that works here. There are some offered up, that I know for a fact are turn and burn beers (just a couple of weeks from start to finish). Anyway, these will both be on tap as well. Cans or not, I think they're both pretty tasty and worth having a glass of.
