That's how I feel whenever I see pictures of Abrasive.
That's how I feel about both... permaloves!

Happened to have gotten this from dtuma1980. Sorry axeman9182... just seemed to be the perfect quote for this.

Look at what libbey did to me:

Howler of Boneyard RPM IPA--in fridge and will be drank tonight
Freemont Bourbon Abominable
Freemont Bourbon Barrel Dark Star
Caldera Old Growth Imperial Stout

Midnight Sun Berserker
Alesmith Speedway Stout
Crux Tough Love Bourbon Barrel Stout
Pelican Mother of All Storms

Big Sky Olde Bluehair
Naked City Big Lebrewski White Russian Imperial Stout
Deschutes Abyss
FW Velvet Merkin

My incredibly poor pictures don't do this box justice. So many bottles here I can't wait to open and share with people. The best thing about this box...it was 100% unsolicited. Libbey just sent me a note asking if I had a PNW trader. When I said I don't, he said he was sending me some beer and I should just send some beer back to him sometime. Who does that?!?

Libbey, that's who. Unreal.

I'm already planning what to send back, but there's no way I can top this. Matt, this is so generous. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Might as well post a haul of my own. Did a nice little IP trade this afternoon.

extras:

Red Poppy
Black Albert

I said *******! Powerful haul Dave, I'm both jealous and proud.

Is the Kern River Citra really as glorious as I have been lead to believe?

Unicorns having sex with leprechauns and whatnot..

That time that DDB went up to Kern River and opened 5 Squared with Kyle and Eric at the Citra release,

Pepperidge Farm remembers

It's a really good DIPA. Drink it if you can find it.

Emptying your cellar to trade for it is a fool's errand.

Its like the OE of the IPA world it seems.

Although HT was overrated, IMO. I had a few fresh cans and was like "wtf dude?!"
Pliny is the one that started the hype train for me... I had it and loved it. Until I had Heady and then until I had Abrasive.

I'm sure some are better, but for ease of obtaining it doesn't get much better. Try to get some Permanent Funeral as well. That's a tasty beer as well.

Werd.

See Abrasive and HT were both meh for me. I live near RRB so I've had it on tap and it's just hard to beat.

PF is 2nd only to Nelson for me...gahhh so good..so,so good.

Ok. Something has just happened and I don't know how to describe it.

A few weeks ago, I posted a thread looking for a bottle of 2010 Opus One. It was a casual posting and I didn't really expect much to come from it. I had never traded beer for wine, so this was a new frontier for me. Soon after I posted the thread, Gene sends me a message to say that one is sitting on the shelf by him and he would buy it to trade to me for some tasty beers. I agree to a trade and we keep it pretty open. The only bottle we agreed on was the 2010 Opus One from him and a couple bottles from me. Well, nobody warned me of what I had just gotten myself into... This guy went and dropped a bomb.

Remember, we agreed to ONE bottle

In the middle you have the one bottle of 2010 Opus One
Working from right to left, we have the following:
Hill Farmstead - Civil Disobedience 7 (seriously?!)
Allagash - Coolship Cerise (I've wanted to try this for so long!)
Black Dirt - Bourbon (who the hell sends a bottle of bourbon? really excited for it!)
Glenmorangie - Ealanta (sample)
River North Brewery - No. 10 (BB w/ cherries)
Pappy Van Winkle - 15 year (you're ******* kidding me, right?)
Robert Mondavi - 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon
Boulevard Brewing - Saison-Brett 2011
Elijah Craig - 21 year (huge want!)
Kane - Morning Bell
Thomas H. Handy Sazerac (who does that?!?!)
Kane - Apiary
Captain Lawrence - Rosso E Marrone (huge want!)
Unlabeled bottle - I assume it's Gene's urine. I'm totally ok with that at this point. I just hope it's the '08; he ate a lot of asparagus that year!

I can't even believe this has happened. I will get my revenge! Gene is and always will be the KING of talkbeer.

Gene was my secret santa this year. The man is a legend and I must say I've enjoyed all the beers he sent me so far.
