I wish there were a running bottle log comparing the number of special releases from HOTD and lost abbey and their carbonation.

Pretty sure they both lose, but it would be fun to see play out in real time

Sad I missed out on the SBW HotD/FW dinner at Brouwer's but happy to hear from Alan that HotD/FW is doing a Portland Beer Week dinner at HotD on June 11th. Yay!

Apparently he brought up that Double Barleywine monstrosity (that my Dad had earlier this year) to share with staff at Burgundian. Bartender mentioned it to me last night.

Anyone from here going to the HotD/FW dinner this Sunday? I'm stoked for it, especially at $85. I think that is a steal for an 8 course dinner plus 14 beers. Cheers all.

We'll be there, looks like a great menu at a great price as well!
There are some really bitchy people on the HotD FB page lol. Some guy said that he felt "pushed out" of events like this because of the price. I responded with "$85 is quite the deal for an 8 course meal with 14 beers." I'll have to make sure to say hello to you while there! Cheers!

Does anyone know what bottles are currently available to go? Looks like they stopped updating their webpage. Thanks
Side by Side, Bourbon Fred, and probably some Matt and Cherry Adam though I could be wrong on those two.

Here now. BFftW 2017, Side by Side 2017, Matt 2016, Blue Dot Summer Bottling (new Fall just came on tap today), Fred b98 and Adam 96. Plus some large format bottles. No CAftW left.
I know that BfftW 17' is flat but how's the flavor compared to past years? I actually really enjoy that one no matter the carbonation. Also, how's the new Blue Dot?

I like the new BFftW. It is very (very) lightly carbed, and could use a few more bubbles. But the flavor is good. Not the sweet mess of a beer that 2013 turned into.

New Blue Dot is pretty typical. Good, but just not keeping up with today's IPA market. But I still got a second glass.

Pretty much everything that's been released in the last 6 months. Seriously.

Thanks. Hoping to grab some BFftW, CAftW, and Doggie Claws when I’m out there in about a week. I still like their beer.

BTW Alan will be doing a big 25th Anny party later this year :) I assume it'll be in similar fashion to the amazing 20th Anny party. Cheers dudes. PS - I love that all his beers hang around now. So great for me.

20th Anniversary Party was so fun. I really hope the timing works out so I can make it to the 25th.
(Agreed it's great that basically any weekend I make it down to Portland I can stop in at HoTD and pick up some bottles.)

Do they still charge like $10+ per 12oz to go?

I have such a love/hate relationship with HOTD.

I truly miss the days of being able to walk into a beer distributor here in PA and buying cases of “my namesake” beer. Im down to only a couple bottles of Adam from the ‘04-06 era and they are truly among some of the best cellar dweller under-rated bottles I have.

Just about every time I open an older bottle of HOTD I ask myself why the hell dont I have more so I can drink it more frequently.

Adam and Fred are still available to go in 12 oz. format for around $5/bottle. The last time I bought a case of either I believe it was $105. I also hate myself for not having older vintages of Adam. That beer is stellar with age.
