I guess neglecting it while soaking in pbw in a hot garage for a few days wasn't the best idea.

That's an odd looking crack! Any clue what could have caused it?

If that's an acrylic hydrometer tube there have been reports over the years that prolonged PBW soaking can cause crazing that leads to cracks...

I have no clue. Maybe too dramatic of a temp change too quickly? I only noticed it by wiping it off and I could feel it slightly catch. Could have been there a while and just never noticed. Maybe it became more apparent since I left it soaking in a near 1.000 solution and pbw made it's way through. Who knows. That one was about 8 years old.

Interesting. It's glass, but maybe still applies.

Glass is fine, it's just acrylics that have the problem...
